Right you are, So when did fletcher, Maloney, gough etc first visit Scotland ?, Ritchie may have well wanted to visit Scotland before he played for us but circumstances prevented him from doing so. I work in Corby where there is a very high population of folk who moved down from Scotland and most of there siblings consider themselves to be half Scottish and would give there right arm to pull on the dark blue. Are you going to say they can't because they were not born here or not had the chance to visit

I guess nobody knows what his family circumstances were when he was younger or when he was chosen to join his club's academy. It's very easy to assume. Fact is he is eligible through his father, which is acceptable to 99.99999% of us and 100% of the ruling bodies. That's all that matters. And as a player, he's an asset to the current squad. Don Hutchison tells the story that his father was very clear about what nationality he (Don) is, and he probably didn't visit Scotland much as a youngster. Ever heard anyone question big Don's credentials to play for Scotland?? Edited May 20, 2016 by Barney Rubble

Scots have been leaving Scotland consistently for centuries to search for a better life; some people who post on this board fall into this category. Other posters, for some reason, take great umbrage at the sons of such people being able to represent Scotland at football. Scotlad you are correct. Glad someone could work that out. Bit of conjecture but it would be interesting if he ended up at Celtic and formed a decent partnership with Griffiths whether that might persuade Strachan to play both of them up front. thewolf_1980
I'd take Fletcher at Rangers, though his prominent, "You'll Never Walk Alone" tattoo may irk some... He'll end up at Norwich leading the line with Steven Naismith. You heard it here first.

ceudmilefailte
Hope he goes to Rangers and scores fifty goals. Would lead to some very confused TAMBERS
g@un
I reckon he'll go back to Marseille on a reduced wage. Heard they are struggling a bit financially so the free transfer part will suit.
