  1. He has done amazingly well since moving to Italy. If McGinn were to get injured, he then gets the jersey with confidence. Has to get serious game time in the upcoming friendlies.
  2. Newcastle United: Ronnie Simpson (GK) John Brownlie (RB) Matt Ritchie (LB) Bobby Moncur (CB) Frank Brennan (CB) Roy Aitken (DM) Tony Green (AM) Kevin Gallacher (RWF) Tommy Craig (LWF) Hughie Gallagher (CF) Mark McGhee / Duncan Ferguson (CF) Not too shabby!

    What about Gallagher at Liverpool?

Barry Douglas will be 33 at the next World Cup. Hopefully we have a few half decent younger defenders by then?

It may be amazing what a run of games in a settled formation will do for some players. A bit more positive about the future, a bit more...
  6. Where possible, I would just go with the same team that started on Saturday. Time for an element of consistency for a change. That has been a contributing factor to some of the performances.
  7. It also helps to have a leader in midfield, and a vocal keeper. Something we also seem to lack.
  8. I remember a few months back, someone at work saying Brexit would be like Scottish clubs, out of Europe by November. FFS! How that one aged badly. MK Dons supporter as well!
  9. That is amazing! A dying art due to the influx of tech, etc. Also never perceived as the coolest of hobbies but one I certainly respect. I still have an old train set in the loft. Also Scalextrix....
  10. That's what I had in mind.
  11. He's young enough to have days like that given his physique. I remember thinking the same thing about Harry Kane!
  12. Any striker that can score goals in the SPL should be looked at. Still think Shankland will get SPL goals sooner rather than later. Really want Hornby to succeed in Belgium as well. He's the one that I am most hopeful for.
  13. Porteous and McKenna please. Both have a fighting chance of turning into a respectable centre half!
  14. To be fair, I thought his performance in the panto at Milton Keynes theatre last Christmas was above average.
  15. Fair enough. I will still plump for us to beat them. Not sure on Cyprus, especially with the latest call-offs.
  16. I get the pessimism for these games, especially for Cyprus, but I cannot see us losing the Kazakhstan game at home. Surely not?!
  17. Gutted to not have them for this squad, although happy for Taylor to have a go against so so opposition.
  18. For all the doom and gloom of today's squad, that's quite slim pickings there as well.
  19. Can we get him in to do the anthem before the playoff games? That would give everyone a gee up!
  20. McKenna and Gallagher might actually be okay for us. Agree with the frustration with constant new partnerships. One of the main reasons that we have shipped so many goals recently.
  21. That makes sense. I think the Cyprus game would be ideal to try Jack in the DM role. With McGregor and McGinn alongside.
  22. The new one is awful! I like the outgoing top, it will be the last one I buy for a while.
  23. Might this be an opportunity for Clarke to draft Gilmour into the squad? Different types of midfielder, but surely the right time to do so...
  24. Cyprus 1 Scotland 2 Scotland 2 Kazakhstan 0 Little confidence booster for the play-offs.
  25. Forrest can stay put please. He's had a shocking first half, but so have most of the team.
