Best Films Of All Time?

Recommended Posts

Die Hard

Die Hard 2

Die Hard with a Vengeance

Loves the first 3 Die Hard movies but after that they are a bit meh.

Blade Runner.

Indianna Jones movies.

Lord of the Rings (despite the differences from the books)

The Shining

One Flew over the Cuckoos nest

American Werewolf in London (not sure why I love this film so much)

The Goonies (watch it every time it's On)

Alien

Blazing Saddles (still funny)

All favourites of mine but the best film ever made? No idea.

I'd watch any of those listed above if they were on the TV despite owning the Dvds.

Just finishing watching The Godfather trilogy.

Godfather 3 is shite, but there are very few films better than The Godfather and The Godfather 2 (also undoubtedly the best sequel ever made).

On a side note. I was reading today that John Cazale (who played Fredo and who died young at 42), only ever appeared in 6 movies....all of which were nominated for an Oscar for best movie.

He's the only actor to hold that distinction.

You're welcome.

Bladerunner

That must be up there.

A Matter of Life and Death (so far ahead of its time - never bettered imho)

Dog Day Afternoon (another of John Cazale's few appearances)

Dark Star (early John Carpenter - haven't seen it in decades and may not stand up now but unforgettable)

The Conversation (which Coppola squeezed in between Godfather's I & II)

Aye, but you liked Gladiator which kind of disbars you from expressing further opinions on a 'Best Films of all Time' thread. Sorry, but them's the breaks. :)

I did wonder when I saw 'Gladiator' squeezed into this list...
