Completely agree about Paris Texas. Rubbish film that it was cool to like.

Completely disagree about A Walk Actoss the Rooftops. Brilliant album by a brilliant band.

I love slow building, mysterious films that study different characters in detail.

Paris, Texas left me totally gobsmacked, but my wife hated it, so it's a bit marmite.

Here's another few to add to the list;

There will be blood

Lost in translation

The rules of the game (La règle du jeu)

M

Spirited Away

Boyhood

The Pianist

Rosemary's Baby

The lives of others

Once upon a time in the west

Godfather & Godfather II

It's a wonderful life

The Shining

American Beauty

The Dollar trilogy

No country for old men

Stagecoach

The list goes on and on, too many great films to mention

I forgot about Lost in Translation - great film. Also, It's a Wonderful Life - brilliant. I watched Forrest Gump last night, I have to admit it is excellent (as is the soundtrack).

The year Gump came out you had Pulp Fiction and The Shawshank Redemption, for my personal tastes a great year.

I also like Good Will Hunting.
