Siroki Brijeg or Birkirkara from Malta we beat Sircoki Brijeg fairly comfortably a few years ago so its a decent draw

Visited Ventspils in 2002 just before the club took off and started battling Skonto for who was the big force in Latvian football...... tricky team, but do not think they have the backing just now (Skonto had their license revoked last year so are in the Latvian lower league these days and Liepaja who are just coming back from financial ruin themselves are the current big boys in Latvian football).... certainly been a really kind draw to us with nobody in the same league as Groningen or Rijeka
Clyde1998
Just to make it clear for everyone: First Qualifying Round: Infonet Tallinn (EST) vs Hearts Aberdeen vs Fola Esch (LUX) Second Qualifying Round: Hibs vs Valur (ISL) or Brondby (DEN) Siroki Brijeg (BIH) or Birkirkara (MLT) vs Infonet Tallinn (EST) or Hearts Aberdeen or Fola Esch (LUX) vs Ventspils (LVA) or Víkingur Gota (FRO)
min
Happy with the Dons draw. I know it's the third year that we've been in this position, but still seems crazy starting the season so early! Our first leg match will clash with the first quarter final at the Euros... our second leg clashes with the second semi - crazy?!

It might have been better to draw a (beatable) higher ranked team in QR2 to then piggy back on that seeding for QR3 and give a better chance of getting to the play-off. This way we can piggy back off a seeded team from QR3 to get an easier team in the play-off.
littleboyblue
Not sure about that, deecie. I thought that only worked from QR2 to QR3 due the draw for QR3 taking place between the 1st and 2nd legs and the winner of the tie being unknown at the time. I think the play off draw is made after the 2nd leg of QR3, in which case the winner of the tie is known and if we got there we would be relying on our own paltry coefficient.
