Masterclass from Djokovic. On that performance a calendar slam would be a good bet.

Really gutted for him. He's provided many of my best sporting memories over the last 12 years or so. Lots of late nights / early mornings keeping track. A sad way to end - he's obviously in agony and shouldn't play at all in Australia - but what a legacy to leave!

It is sad to watch. His recent interviews are telling - he knows himself it’s probably all over.
  4. I may be looking at it half glass full, but I'm really worried about what our squad will look like after the transfer window. The vibes are that Lowe will be recalled by Derby, McKenna will probably be sold, Devlin + Reynolds + Hoban are all medium / long term injured - what defenders will we be able to field? Further up the park, Shinnie and GMS could well be looking for a move - do we take some fee now or run down their contracts? There's absolutely nothing I've seen from Forrester that suggests he's anything other than completely out of his depth. He (with his £200k transfer fee) along with Gleeson and Wilson are in the top wage bracket at Pittodrie, giving practically zero in return. The May / Cosgrove partnership is promising as is the emergence of Connor McLennan and Bruce Anderson.
  5. The straps worked well for me and after losing a bit of weight this year can just about fit into the kilt without them again. Considered getting the kilt adjusted at the time, but then thought I'd be resigning myself to being overweight for eternity. A wee bit of kilt motivation helped the weight loss!
  6. Staying in Bologna Sat - Tue and just travel for the match. Quite impressed with what I’ve read about Bologna. Plenty to do and see.
  7. Scotland 1-3 Egypt. Pittodrie 16th May, 1990. A nightmare send off to the World Cup.
  8. Exactly. Would be even better if a draw was made to decide a single host for both semis and the final - less travelling all round.
  9. Don't think so, but it's still far from ideal. 'Regulation 17.04: For each play off final, a draw is conducted in advance to determine which semi-final winner will play at home' So, we have a 50/50 chance of the final being at Hampden if we win the semi. However, if the other semi get the luck of the draw we wont know whether we will be going to Oslo or Belgrade until 3 days before!?
  10. I agree about the exposure and I'm ok with the new Scottish Cup deal increasing the amount of free to air live matches to 11 games per season - particularly giving more coverage to the earlier rounds. The best way to boost exposure would be to have a prime-time Saturday evening in-depth highlights / analysis programme on free to air, not by disadvantaging fans who go to games.
  11. We went to the pick up point about 9:30 on Friday night and saw the length of the queue meandering through the lobby. We about turned and went back at 10am on Saturday morning and got the tickets within 15 mins.
  12. I don't do subscription TV on general principle, so this deal (reducing the number of televised games from 60 to 48 per season) will mean less disruption for myself and other fans that actually go to games.
  13. No. The whole of the North Stand is going to Rangers.
  14. The reaction from Celtic is hilarious. In the event of an Aberdeen v Celtic final, I look forward to them demanding a ballot to determine who gets what end at Hampden.
  15. League games are incomparable, that's why Aberdeen aren't complaining about the 12:15 KO for the league game in Kilmarnock on Sunday 4th November.
  16. At long last AFC have grown a pair... Aberdeen FC finds the explanation provided by the SFA in relation to the Michael Devlin red card appeal unacceptable. The club maintains its view that the player was wrongfully dismissed, that the evidence presented was a robust defence and was overwhelmingly compelling in the player’s favour. In light of recent decisions taken by the SFA, the club believes it is imperative for the country’s football authorities to establish consistency and transparency in the appeal and referral process and will engage in dialogue with the SPFL in this regard to seek their assistance. Furthermore, at a time when technology is making a significant and positive impact across sport, the club believes that the impact of the VAR system trials in the English Premier League need to be considered if stakeholders in the game are going to regain trust in the process. AFC is aware that the views we have expressed are held by many who have found key appeal and referral decisions this year perplexing and want to see the governing body dealing with this proactively, with a consistent and transparent appeals process high up on the agenda. Doing so would enhance the game’s integrity, greatly assist referees, improve the game for fans and, ultimately, the perception of Scottish football.
  17. thanks for the offer but just booked the Megabus from Perth to Glasgow. Cheers.
  18. Just been informed that my train - 12:40 - now terminates at Perth... as does the one after that... and after that... conflicting information as to whether there are replacement buses from Perth to Queen Street, but looking unlikely.
  19. Amazon have the rights for the ATP tour from next year, as well as the US open. Streaming is the way forward!

Agree with all of that. The last thing Andy's body needs at the moment is five set matches - best to skip Wimbledon this year and continue with a measured return. However, I think he will play.
  21. Agree that series 3 did pick up as it went on and ultimately I suppose it had to go in a different direction to the first two. Series 4 is already dropping off of iPlayer I'm afraid as it was only on for the standard 30 days, unlike the older series.
  22. Agree with this. Previously, Aberdeen have been seeded in the second qualifying round, so Sevilla, etc. wouldn't have been an option. The new club co-efficient system has changed all of that and we are now unseeded. It's only going to get tougher!
  23. Some Highland league clubs fancy it and some don't - Cove are definitely a club who do. I've watched Cove a couple of times this season and went to the play-off semi against Spartans, Cove are a decent side and by all accounts the 0-0 draw last week more than flattered Cowdenbeath. After being homeless for a few seasons, the new Cove stadium is almost complete and it would be fitting if the first competitive league game there will be in league 2. I think Cove will do it.
  24. On iPlayer until 21st of June. The first 3 series have 10 episodes each.
