Clyde1998
The change of pace from Mbappe is what made that goal. I don't know who was marking Pavard, but probably should've been closer to him and tracked the run better. Can't complain too much though, given the quality of this France side. StirlingEgg
Commentary a bit off putting, not sure who it is but short monotone sentences like he's awkwardly reading out his own poem at school 😬 Not Rory but the other guy...

Surprised they're bothering with VAR for a friendly, but it was certainly a penalty (assuming the foul was for McLean? on Mbappe).
weekevie04
We're going to get pumped 6-1 or something. Hahaha typical Scotland, we should be playing Bhutan or something for the fun factor. We are good side. This is a second string team ; but these England, France and Spain games have shown we are fair off the pace when it come to the League A teams (that Nations League is going to be difficult) but if we can get out the group at the Euros, will be some decent progress. Happy Liam Kelly finally capped - been in the squad for about 3 years - just hope it is nae too many.

Clyde1998
Nearly another French assist for us - if only Adams had committed a bit more, he could've got on the end of that back pass.
Mazda
need a few subs giving the ball away too easily up front & playing all the way back from forward positions is really frustrating

Bull. Fun factor? What fun is there in beating nobodies? What do you learn from beating nobodies? Nothing. If we are going to progress at major tournaments we need tests against the best sides out there. We were 17 mins away from getting a result away to Spain and beat them earlier in the campaign. We got turned over by Euro runners-up England and are getting soundly beaten by a strong French side against a weakened Scotland team. Bobby Russell's Lovechild
Considering this is almost a 2nd xi against a full strength France, we've played some really decent stuff

DesiScotsman
HT Cant say I’m not surprised as the scoreline was pretty much expected before a ball was kicked. Just like what we learned from the England game, they are just a level too good for us. Not gonna complain, it’s a good test for these players playing against the best team in the continent and against one of the worlds best players in Mbappe. It’s a good learning experience for them which is the standard of opponent we are going to come up against in the next Nations League & Euros in Germany next summer. It’s the sort of level we want to aspire to be at. Plus it’s our 2nd string team. Edited October 17, 2023 by DesiScotsman

exile
Well I think we had to bring in some fresh legs and give some lesser played players a chance. Result is you're up against one of the strongest teams in the world, but not with your strongest team So fair play to the lads stepping up. Let's learn from this. Some subs can freshen things up. We ain't playing Jamaica, New Zealand or South Africa in the Euros so wins against teams of that ilk to massage egos is not the way to prepare for the Euros. In any case we beat Spain earlier in the campaign. We beat Denmark, Austria and Ukraine in recent times all of whom could be at the Euros.
