Am not disagreeing with that if you cant control your own line outs though

For me they're big old units and being down to 14 may have knackered them out. I've got a right sulk on 😆

vanderark14 Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Ah well, the lads never gave up against the best team in the world but SA are just too good. Whoever wins this tournament will beat SA imo
bonzo Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Our line out needs a hell of a work. Other than that it was like playing rugby against a brick wall.

Elsewise they've seen it and ignored it. WWE levels of validity in this.

I can see Ireland running the legs off them and we're playing for 3rd vs Tonga to be honest
Shaundy Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Ah well. Nothing went quite right. Their guy was lucky not to be red carded given current safeguards. Their cross kick try was one of the very few moments.

If Ireland beat SA then a win for us over Ireland might not evn be enough to get through. To be honest, I can't see us beating Ireland. We just constantly make far too many unforced mistakes. Other teams make mistakes as well but not nearly as many as us.
Orraloon Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 I'm not going to try to blame the "red card" incident. That decision didn't make us fail to score when we had a two man overlap and it only required a simple pass. We could have had a three or four man overlap and failing to make that pass would have had the same result. That decision didn't make our line outs a total shambles either.
ThistleWhistle Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Refereeing in the Wales Fiji game is wank too - he's saved Wales conceding 2 tries including a no arms tackle and given them 25 goes at being offside. First offence by Fiji in the next attack equals yellow card.
ThistleWhistle Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Ten penalties in Welsh 22 = 1 yellow card One penalty in Fiji 22 = 1 yellow card

Orraloon Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Starting to look like a South Africa v England final.
AlfieMoon Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 If, by some miracle, Scotland make it out the group - will the SRU have tix to sell for the knock out game?

Were we pish in the last WC ? If 2 go through we are out yes ? Yes the draw was a total farce. And yes we are out if we do not finish in the top two. The draw was made far too long ago (around a year ago) when the rankings were far, far different which in turn buggered up the seedings for the draw. At the time of the draw England and Wales had not went on a bad run of results yet, Australia had not slipped into oblivion and other countries have climbed up the rankings like us. It made the seedings totally erroneous. The WRC, as a result, are apparently going to review the date of the draw for next time around which is of no use to us now.

I thought the draw was actually made 3 years ago which is completely mental. I believe they are not doing this again though for next tournaments.

Shaundy Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I’m watching a lot of the free to view , which is all of it. today has been cracking. The Georgia v Portugal was a rare draw with both teams missing kicks in the last few minutes to win outright. Wonderfully contested with a lot of supporters of especially Portugal enjoying it. this South Africa v a United Ireland side is great . I think this Ireland side will win the tournament. Obvs , only if they win this . Are there other international sports teams that include a sovereign nation state AND a bit of another sovereign nation state? Or is it like the football and we’re a bit special in the United Kingdom and Ireland!
Toepoke Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I reckon our tea's oot if Ireland hang on here

Hertsscot Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Great result for the Irish but hasn't done us any favours
