Since we’re in the playground, because I asked thplinth first.

You and aaid are the only ones In the playground. I just wanted to see if you had the standards you expect of everyone else but you clearly don't.

Would you care to explain why I’m in the playground?

To continue with the playground analogy, it could be argued thplinth is the school bully enabled by a cohort of cowardly sycophants.

It generally doesn’t end well for the school bully or his sycophants - although very occasionally an unusually manipulative school bully goes on to paid employment from a rogue state.

Unfortunately having a black and white perspective you are not able to understand that a lot of these 'oligarchs' came about under Boris Yeltsin who was both a pisshead and surrounded by people working for the CIA (Putin says this not me).

During Yeltsin's term a group of people (the soon to be 'oligarchs') managed to corner huge stakes in recently 'privatised' former state assets. This was all very shady and corrupt and they picked up the assets for a song.

A good example of one of them is Mikhail Khodorkovsky. Remember him, not exactly pro-Putin is he. Very few of these oligarchs from that Yeltsin era are pro-Putin, most of them hate him and live abroad, many are in the UK. Putin apparently told them when he came to power they could keep their ill gotten gains but to stay out of politics. Khodorkovsky did not listen. So he got royally fucked to send the message.

It is these oligarchs ill gotten Russian's assets he will nationalize. It will be very popular in Russia for obvious reasons. They are all thieving cunts.

And Putin hasn’t stashed away many millions of ill gotten wealth or is that another CIA lie.

Sorry I’m not on your level of Russian knowledge and can only see things in black & white you patronising know all, seems the only thing you believe is what your Kremlin masters spout or tell you.

What’s the weather like just now in Moscow, hope you’ve got you’re state issued thick coat & furry hat on or is the Kremlin propaganda room nice & cosy. I find it disturbing that you think the Russians are totally innocent in this war & that it’s the Ukrainians who are the guilty ones, attacking their own people & infrastructure, you’re either a Russian, employed by Russia or totally blinded & naive. I have no doubt both sides a capable of atrocities but I’m probably a more balanced & reasonable person than you come across as with your one sided views.

Oh sorry for not taking you seriously when you come out with reds in beds paranoid shite like this little corker. 😀 Not my fault you know fuck all and get angry when told something.

It is like the TAMB's very own little Red Scare

https://alphahistory.com/coldwar/reds-under-the-bed/

We have Joseph aaid McCarthy and his henchmen creating blacklists and seeing commie pinko sons o' bitches everywhere. Demanding answers to their TAMB Un-American Activities Committee.

You got to admit the parallels are all there. Mad! 😀

I've not got a dog in this fight.

I know nothing of the situation. I don't have live TV as I don't have a TV licence, so not subjected to "news"

I got banned from twitter for calling George Galloway a cunt, I don't have a Facebook account to hear the views of Facebook maws, clinicians and generals.

I come on here to try and find a take and all I discover is Mick North Croy is back

Thplinth is a Putin sympathiser and lives in South America.

Aaid (who is a guy FFS, where did this she thing come from) is archiving the tamb and everyone's posts.

My normal oracle of decent information phart doesn't have a clue what's going on either.

Scottycta hasn't came on yet to say that it's god's plan and he'll be raptured imminently.

Thistle whistle is still funny as fuck.

Lamia, now Lamia I can agree with. There was something off about Ukraine in 2006. A horrible undercurrent that prevented me leaving my hotel in the evening.

Now play nice ya bunch of fannies.

Far from angry & I can see both sides arguments unlike you, I’m quite willing to have a discussion but that would take two people with open minds.

It is brutal, as any war is, but I am (so far) finding it relatively mild relative to the off the scale carnage that was happening for example in Syria for many years. I have never seen (before nor since) the level of brutality and cruelty that ISIS showed. The only groups that match them in sheer imagination in dreaming up horrible ways to kill someone are the Mexican drug cartels. I am definitely inured to the violence. This stuff would have shocked me a lot more a decade or so ago. Sadly it is going to get worse before it gets better at this point, especially when the neo nazi component of the Ukrainian Armed Forces meet the Russian Armed Forces (maybe they have already). I think that will be a very bloody and dirty fight. I think denazification might just mean annihilating them, certainly it does if they are cornered somewhere and don't surrender.

Unless NATO is planning on attacking Russia which would be suicide for most us in Europe and beyond there is only going to be one outcome. Sending more weapons is just going to increase the loss of life, not surprisingly. We are already sending weapons and that game can work both ways. What if the Russians started sending advanced weapons to people who are fighting 'us'? For example if the Yemen rebels suddenly got advanced Russian manpads (and that is not male sanitary device). The west is in a lot of different conflicts around the world and the Russians have excellent missile technologies that could tip a lot of them against 'us'. So it is a dangerous game we are playing sending weaponry even.

I totally agree with this. The "best" Ukraine can hope for is that Russia doesn't win because they are never going to lose.  And not winning just means years of destruction and death. Ukraine cannot win as far as I can see. This whole thing of arming everyone who wants it is sheer suicide and just creating cannon folder. If NATO become involved then the risks to Europe and indeed the planet don't bear thinking about.

I just cannot see a good outcome from this whatever we do.

Once that dead hand system ‘decides’ the Russian leadership has been decapitated or killed it fires ‘communication missiles’ across Russia. They send unstoppable commands to Russian missile silos, subs the lot… launch everything. This is isn’t Iraq folks.
