Well played to the UK government, especially the tories. They have created a country where hardly any of the population cares what the government does. The population has just accepted that this is the way things are and thats that. The SNP are moribund at the moment, unwilling to rock any boats, scared of their own shadows. Trying to be good wee parliamentarians. Heading for an electoral doing by the look of it and still they don't do anything to win back voters or even to rebut some of the ludicrous SNPbad stories. Stuff like this should be publicised to the max, as Iv said many a time politics aren’t my thing but I’d be running to the ballot box to vote for anyone who’d put an end to these pish takers. Is he standing down as an MP as well? It might free up a job for more "ordinary" folk to get into politics. Oor Malcolm probably wouldn't even consider getting out of bed for that sort of pittance. Even if there was a public outcry it would simply be discussed in parliament , MP’s would then reject any real change as ultimately both of the 2 main parties want to stuff the HoL with their pals, despite Labour’s current pretendy shake up promise . hampden_loon2878
“””NEW: Kate Forbes tells the covid inquiry she was not aware of the existence of “gold command” meetings where major pandemic decisions were taken despite her being Scotland’s Finance Secretary at the time. Forbes was “never invited” to the small meetings led by Sturgeon. @SkyNews””” we all know why she wasn’t invited, as she would have been the only grown up in the room.. Hertsscot
COVID inquiry. Nick Yardley doing a bit of a hatchet job on BBC this morning. Highlighting Sturgeons clown message and excess deaths in Scotland being similar to England in spite of more restrictions. My takes: Any reduction in excess deaths is a good thing, it's someone's loved one. Most people probably agree with Sturgeons assessment of Johnson Johnson and his pals probably said a lot worse but we haven't got his WhatsApp messages Sturgeons messaging was consistently clearer and more compassionate than Johnson's Scotland's population is on average a couple of years older than England's which presumably has an impact on excessive deaths Scotland had high profile media figures (Oliver, Adams) who actively undermined Govt. health messages Scotland never had control of its borders, that was always in UK hands I didn't live in Scotland during most of the pandemic but I have no doubt that increased public health measures were motivated by a genuine concern to do what was right by the population of Scotland. Extra restrictions don't tend to lead to political popularity as witnessed by the hatred of Sturgeon for having a different approach. Unfortunately the saps that are the British public will just ignore this like they have ignored the additional costs that have being getting added due to Brexit for the past few years. This isnt something new. Additional admin costs for paperwork have been getting passed onto the consumer and being disguised under the ‘ inflation’ banner. This article from last May highlights food specifically , but its not just food that’s been affected. https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/brexit-blame-third-britains-food-bill-rise-researchers-say-2023-05-25/ 1 hour ago, vanderark14 said:Jacob Rees mogg must be one of the most punchable cunts to ever grace this earth. Ally Bongo
Great result for the extreme right Clapham attack suspect Abdul Ezedi convicted of sex offence in 2018 The suspect in an alkali attack in south London was convicted of a sex offence in 2018 and was later granted asylum. He was convicted of "sexual assault/exposure" in 2018, before being granted asylum in 2021 or 2022. BBC News understands that Ezedi arrived in the UK by lorry in 2016, having travelled from Afghanistan. His sentence for the sexual offence, passed down at Newcastle Crown Court, included an unpaid work order. Once that was complete in 2020, Ezedi was discharged from probation supervision. His asylum application was twice turned down, but granted on the third occasion when he claimed to have converted to Christianity. However, those who work with asylum seekers point that you can still be at risk in your home country - and therefore a genuine refugee - even if you have a conviction in the UK. A mother and daughter hurt by the corrosive substance could have suffered "life-changing" injuries in Wednesday's attack. It took place on Lessar Avenue, near Clapham Common, at about 19:25 on Wednesday. The 31-year-old and her daughter, three, remain in hospital, along with her older daughter, eight. The suspect attempted to escape the scene in a car but crashed into a stationary vehicle, then ran.

kumnio
I don’t think you need to be far right to think this is ridiculous. If you go to a country, and try to claim asylum, the very least thing that you should be expected of, is to be a law abiding citizen. He should never have been granted this, if you’re convicted of a sexual crime before this is granted, you should be deported straight away. No it’s, no buts. kumnio
Jim Spence commented on this. Granted Spence has turned into a bigger knob than normal recently, and Toby Young is one of the biggest knobs going, but I decided to watch the 8 minute video anyway. If what is said in it true, then its absolutely appalling. This nonsense will only create more division, not won't help anyone.
