hannibal smith
My brother text me about this the other day. Shittest, most pathetic "stat" I've ever heard. Granted it's not as good as the 19-05-12 one which was the date of our last cup victory. Take away the result that day and you get the year our opponents that day last won it. macy37
As was I, and it felt like the score was more.... Puzzled by the figure, Hearts just had there best seson for years and then there's the legendary Dons away support so why the poor crowd? AberdeenAngus
Puzzled by the figure, Hearts just had there best seson for years and then there's the legendary Dons away support so why the poor crowd? The crowd was 62,841. Higher than the previous 2 finals which both featured Celtic.
Toepoke
Puzzled by the figure, Hearts just had there best seson for years and then there's the legendary Dons away support so why the poor crowd? Nearly 60,000 at Hampden for two non Glasgow teams? Hardly a poor crowd!
Redz
Puzzled by the figure, Hearts just had there best seson for years and then there's the legendary Dons away support so why the poor crowd? Not sure. I'm guessing the Dons fans were saving their cash to celebrate the anniversary of winning the first of their two stars the following night. It's the kinda thing that happens when your the most successful European trophy winning team in Scotland I guess....
hannibal smith
Nearly 60,000 at Hampden for two non Glasgow teams? Hardly a poor crowd! Indeed, better than the 54,252 which were at the old firm final in 1977
Redz
Indeed, better than the 54,252 which were at the old firm final in 1977 From memory the Jumbo's had a huge support that day (86), ratio just shy of 2:1 I'd say.....
AberdeenAngus
From memory the Jumbo's had a huge support that day (86), ratio just shy of 2:1 I'd say..... It would have been about 40k Hearts to 23k Dons.

OLAS
St.Murn v Thistle. Nothing really to write home about but the wee lassie in the pie stand should be sacked. Her inability to count on her feet was shocking. I had a quick skoosh 2 minutes before half time and went straight to the already building pie queue and still missed the start of the 2nd half. Even had to count up a Buddy Bovril and Buddy Bridie (£1.90 + £2.10 = £4.00, for everyone still reading) for her. The two boys at the segregation were the highlight for me. Papped oot after a wee bit of abuse in both directions. Ejected 'cause he had a shitey flavour of MD20/20. As for the game. Cauld, never in any doubt (first time I've ever said that), and Bannigan shone again. We'll struggle to replace him in this form. St.Mirren are doomed. Their corners were dangerous but they only got around 4 of them and all in succession - where they scored from (should have scored after the 1st or 2nd). They'll be lucky to stay up playing like that. Hotdog was a 6/10 and bridie was a 4/10. Bovril was an 11. Time to say feck off to this weather and get back to Malta.
