northernscum
The game v Germany is a write off. They'll beat us by at least 2 clear goals. Georgia is the game we must not drop points in. The other way of looking at that is, if we pick up 3 points on Friday the Germany game then becomes a kind of "no lose " game where we are not expected to get anything, but if we do, we are almost there! I expect Germany to be better in these final few matches but at home, we have a chance against anyone.

Toepoke
The game v Germany is a write off. They'll beat us by at least 2 clear goals. The didn't manage that in their home game. When did we last lose a home qualifier by more than 2 goals?...

More than 2 goals? have looked through Euro and WC qualifiers back to 1954 and can't find any instance of it. Have seen 2-0,3-1 (to Belgium) and 4-2 (England) but not 3 goal defeats. girvanTA
I havent seen anything great from Germany during this campaign. We were unlucky not to take a point over there, they drew with Ireland at home, and got beat away from Poland. Average results and performances so far from world champions
Hertsscot
We've always put in decent performances against the Germans, they are world champions - its not long ago they demolished Brazil on their own patch. They have underperformed of late, only thing that worries me is their run of relaitively bad form cannot continue for ever.
Bannannan
If we win in Georgia we'll get at least a draw against Germany.
northernscum
Can you imagine us qualifying at the expense of the world champions! That would definitely make up for all the mediocrity we have had to put up with since '98.
Doric
Brown off injured today. Anyone any updates of what the injury is and is it going to keep him out next week ?

adamntg
So my question, given Dundee Utd have these boys employed as full time professionals - why the fcuk are they not working as hard as Celtic work them? Surely that doesn't cost money?

McDange
Oh Dear, probably wouldn't have started anyway, With Mulgrew off form it could be a concern at center back if we pick up any knocks. Came off the bench and scored yesterday. Will be good for his morale going into these games.
McDange
Too often we hear that it's not the end of the world not getting a result, so it's good to hear McCall today stating that this is a must win game. A real statement of intent. Definitely. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be much of the "would you take a draw" chat. Georgia is a definite must win, not just for points but if we are serious about going to a tournament, these are the kind of games we need to comfortably win. I am far more concerned about every Scotland fans demi-god Scott Brown. Headless chicken V Gibraltar, a stinker V Ireland and poor start to the season and injury as well. McArthur is a good team player but does he have broad enough shoulders to carry the team - I don't think so. If he is given the chance I won't complain though. The Black Bra
Think Fletcher and Morrison together would be a good bet, both started season well and been getting a lot of game time. Playing in the same team every week has got to make a difference.
