Turkey:- 97% of Turkey is in Asia, the eu does not need to share its borders with Syria, Iran and Iraq. Agreeing to one non European country would and could open the door to countries from Cape Verde to Kazakhstan.

So a country that straddles continents (nice use of area % rather than population % btw ;) ) shouldn't be allowed to join? I'm also unsure how a country that is partly in Europe is the same as a country that isn't in Europe at all

Macedonia and their dispute with Greece could and probably would see Greece blocking Macedonian membership from the EU and Nato, again creating hostile relations between the two.

So Macedonia won't be able to join then? You've just contradicted yourself

Serbia has far longer-standing, and more permanently damaging problems, that are slowing and halting its progress in many directions, firmly rooted over decades in social structure

Nice copy and paste... I'd question what you know about the social issues in Serbia and how they would "damage" the EU.

100% of Cyprus is in Asia. Should they be booted out of the EU?

I would like an intelligible discussion but clearly you don't want one of those.

I think the eu is out of date, power hungry and corrupt, thats my opinion which im entitled too.

Many of us wont agree on certain things with regards to the eu and thats fine I can accept that, but there are many people on this tamb that cant. If anyone disagrees with them then they're a racist, xenophobe with right wing views. Its absolute pish tying to defend yourself while giving an answer to why voting leave would be a good thing.

I have received hate mail through private messages on facebook after they have read stuff on here, which Iv deleted (you know who you are!) and this will be my last post before deleting my account, cant be ####ed with the aggro

good luck to whoever you're voting for

All the best

Ryan

Scunnered it was said tongue I cheek. its a piss take against the likes of Alan who perpetuate the phrase itself by their constant anti-snp drivel regardless of the point being made.

I thought you might pick up on that. but TBH you are guilty of the same which is a shame really...

Well that was nasty . There was no negativity meant by my post, I even called you Sheddy Baby, a spin off a term of endearment usually reserved for a good friend of mines who's name is Sheik.

On that topic, can anyone see Cyprus agreeing to Turkeys ascension into the EU? What with Turkey "occupying" half their country.

Not getting into any Cyprus debates, but would they be open to this happening?

Sounds familiar, if the uk decides to leave, the eu ministers ( what's their names again) have said there will be tariffs on any trade,

Obama says if the uk leave they will be at back of que

and that khunt Osborne  says he is going to put up taxes,

Cyprus is in Europe for historical reasons not geographical.

Although the geographical argument isn't a good one, which is why everyone latched onto it and ignored the border argument which is a thornier problem.

Just now, Alan said:

That's yer Humza Yousaf standing shoulder to shoulder with Tories of all colours in the Bbc debate.

Are they not standing in chevrons?

I know this thread is hardly the pinnacle of constitutional discourse but weird darts at individual representatives is just petty and small.

Ive been surprised by some people who say they are voting out, still the vast majority of people are voting to remain, but theres been a few eye openers.

Same can be said of the reverse. I've seen a couple of people who consider themselves socialists say they are voting remain.

Not that you are asking me but any excuse.

From a purely selfish point of view almost everything says vote Remain. Yet still I would vote Leave.

I think the EU started as a great idea a common market where we all get richer but has now been hi-jacked by whanks with a let's disolve nation states philosophy (and form this big weird euro fukk knows what). The behaviour of Germany to Greece shows this is not a community. Everyone who joined the euro must be thinking feck what a mistake how do we ever get out of this 'club' now? It is still a good idea but as a common market not a common nation.
