Can we hurry up and find out please...

I need to post it on facebook and twitter and make sure folk don't shake their hand or use a toilet seat after them. Then paint a mark on their (digital) door.

The WHO cites fear of stigma and discrimination as the main reason why people are reluctant to get tested, disclose their HIV status and take antiretroviral drugs.5 One study found that participants who reported high levels of stigma were over four times more likely to report poor access to care.6 This contributes to the expansion of the global HIV epidemic and a higher number of AIDS-related deaths

Sounds similar to the Ebola situation now. A lot of survivors were stigmatised by it and forced out of their villages, rejected by their families and even by their wives. There are a lot of people now who need a lot of psychological help (provided by the red cross). A lot of them would have preferred to die though.

The trouble is not all of the survivors get access to help so wherever they end up they don't tell anyone about it and they end up infecting others because the virus persists in their bodily fluids (cum...). Ebola is surviving through human ignorance now. Most bad diseases take advantage of that!

Stigmatization of disease increases it's spread (as you've said).
