Particularly if the lodgers (who are quite well organised) can get the more 'football oriented unionists' voting the same way too. Which it seems they must have.

This wooing and galvanising of the orange vote is a bit scary. They've always been there but were largely labour types with some old queen saluting soldier guys voting tory. The orange vote has clearly been whipped up and grouped together into a solid tory vote. Shotts voted in a tory. I know Shotts well and I know there's not enough actual conservative types around to get a councilor in. So clearly the Orange Lodge has been involved. The tories are playing with fire if they're getting into bed with these scum. We can refer to them as scum because they are total racist bigoted scum and they'd rather cut their own nuts off than vote yes to independence anyway.

I used one of those passports to fly to San Francisco last May. At that point the passport had just over a year left on it and the chip doesn't even work anymore (the lovely UK Border lads and lasses never tire of telling me that and insisting that I should replace it). Stupid is maybe the wrong word but people just aren't aren't objective enough in these situations. Nowhere was safer than Nice in the weeks after the attack but people got all hollywood brained about it and cancelled their holidays and hurt the place economically. That's partly the aim of the terrorists. Paris tourism is suffering now too. Anyway, anyone planning to go to Berlin for the christmas market should still go.

There are plenty of radges born in Scotland already. Another few isn't even going to make a small dent on the radge population.

That's true, except that I'd put Jameson and Bushmills in a league above Bells! Jameson is my goto whisky in the pub when the pints get too much. Never too expensive, always quite nice but not nice enough to feel like you're wasting money on a good malt when your taste buds have already been obliterated by some fancy hipster IPA's.

Theirs is generally distilled thrice whereas scottish whisky is distilled twice. And they'll try to sell you a single malt that wouldn't be legally considered a single malt in scotland. They use both raw and malted barley for their 'pot stilled' single malts whereas scottish whisky can only use malted. Scottish whisky is more interesting in general but there are some nice irish whiskies around these days.

When I saw this thread got bumped up I was sure I was about to read another Savillesque rumour. Kind of glad it wasn't.

I'd hate to be Bill for the next few weeks. She'll be a nightmare at home. That broken sense of entitlement will be a hard one to deal with.
