1320lichtie
ShedTA the atmosphere was a lot better than Hampden IMO. The noise when Maloney curled that in OYF loved that tonight, bring on the England
Uncle Albert
I am alone in thinking that the last ten minutes or so seemed to last forever?????? Brilliant result keeps us right in the hunt!!! Scotland are back!!
derbydan
Atmosphere was the best for a long time, as was the performance from Scotland. No failures at all and as has been said Robertson, the pick of the bunch. Even getting away at the end, a lot easier than Hampden.
Nelly
My friends told me a guy somehow fell down the gap in the Stairwell in the lisbon lions stand after the game. They heard the thump as he hit the ground and had to walk past him to get out. He seemed to have landed on his back/vack of his head. They all looked a bit shocked to say the least. Just hope he's Ok.
adamntg
EK just cos you keep posting the same thing doesn't make it so. From the telly atmosphere didn't seem better than Hamden but not being there I stand to be corrected. Didn't see the same sea of flags etc that Hamden generates. I dunno man. That was rockin' the night. The whole stadium stood for the last fifteen.

adamntg
I'm all for playing all the games at Celtic Park and turning Hampden into some kind of youth academy or whatever - as long as they put blue seats in....
COLT NY
Craig Levein must be delighted that the good work he did "behind the scenes" is paying off so handsomely.
runningtings
I'll tell you this Ireland were utter shite tonight, just tried to boot us off the pitch and punted it at every opportunity. Only one team trying to play football.
Fred_Zeppelin
Craig Levein must be delighted that the good work he did "behind the scenes" is paying off so handsomely. Craig Levein's Scotland would have got beaten by 6 or 7 tonight.
Toepoke
Would've taken a draw after an hour. Terrible start to the second half, scratching ma heid to think what happened. Amazing celebration at the goal. We really need a bigger ground than Hampden for nights like this...
ErsatzThistle
We'd have had Jamie Mackie, Charlie Adam, Ian Black and James Forrest out there tonight if that had still been in charge.
exile
Craig Levein's Scotland would have got beaten by 6 or 7 tonight. You are too harsh. Surely our plucky journeymen would have secured a mission accomplished with a home point and a clean sheet, a job well done proudly secured against a side higher in the seedings than us? flynnyboy
Oh I just remembered ................ Get it right up ye George Galloway I just sent him a tweet to congratulate him on the great night for the nation of his birth... He replied stating that "nation" has no meaning for him??? Strange considering his proud Irishness!!! The man is hypocrisy eptimised.
King Of Paisley
Why give Galloway the oxygen of publicity? As for the game - O'Neiil ought to be ashamed of himself the way he set his team out. Tried to boot us off the park tonight. Thankfully we were not intimidated by his tactics and simply tried to get the ball down and play. Mulgrew and Broon were immense tonight. Faddyman
They were a gang. No more. All they did was try and break up play with cynical fouls and launch long balls up to Walters, who to be fair won a fair few and caused us problems. We are a far better football side than them. Absolutely agree, 58% possession says a lot in that regard
weekevie04
A lot of positives from that. As mentioned, Robertson was absolutely tremendous. He looked a class ahead of his fellow Scottish defenders - so calm/composed on the ball, skilful, excellent first touch and can defend! A long way to go and a young lad, but what a performance. MOTM by a country mile. We look good on the ball too as a team. Anya was good again - he runs his heart out yet not in a hopeless chicken way, clever with the ball running and dragging defenders in to the channels plus the ability to beat a man. Marshall was excellent and definitely kept us in it when Ireland had a great spell right after the break. He's definitely our number 1 now. I've always liked Maloney and it's superb to see him finally coming through for the dark blue. Another cracking game in these qualifiers. Just watch him - an absolutle gem of a player and fingers crossed, we've found a way to utilise him best under Gordie and this team. I like Steven Fletcher, but he's been a bit off the boil, but the lack of goals/compusre is worrying - although we got there tonight and also against Georgia. It's good our next qualifier is Gibraltar, so we can hopefully try a few options and get a few goals in to work on that part of the team. Overall - I'd say we are still a work in progress. We're a decent side though. We are playing cavalier, attractive football, and defensively look stronger than we have in a long time. Hanley does have his moments of fear though, but it wouldn't be Scotland without a McManus, Steven Pressley, at the back who are usually solid enough 95% of the time but still give you the fear especially in the box or slacking about with the ball. That win was so vital to the group. The worry now is Georgia, away, but that's a long way away - surely Ketsbaia will quit and maybe they'll bring in someone to revitilise them, but let's take it 1 game at a time. Gibraltar next, and without being too disrespectful we will not have an easier game in UEFA qualifying which would put us up to 10pts. Take it one at a time, but that's 2 home wins! Win those home games, Georgia away and a point in Dubs. We could we'll be coming. I'll caw-cannae the noo though. A difficult group, but tons and tons of things to be excited about. EddardStark
Massive result. Whole team stood up and to a very physical ROI team. Can't underestimate what Strachan has done in terms of bringing this squad of players together into a team unit. Hertsscot
Just woken up, couldn't get up for the game, couldn't listen to it. Wife switched radio on and YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! Not a bad start for a Saturday.
John_B81
Was a tense night, you could sense it in the atmosphere, and it was clear that Ireland were playing for a point first, they really made themselves hard to beat. Main thing is we got the job done and it was a superbly worked goal that won it. Glad to be proven wrong for once on those bloody short corners that never work. We would've taken ten points from the first four games that have included, arguably, our two toughest away trips and one of our biggest home matches. Let's hope this continues and we can end our long wait for a major finals appearance.
