  1. Yeah mate, I like it. Very much so. Very continental look about it. It's very similar in reverse to the 1987 strip which is my favourite top. Needed a modern variation on the red and yellow hoops or stripes in my opinion and this is just the ticket. Anyone know how to remove sponsors logos on a top as it would be so much better without it.
  2. I'm sure he is out of contract this summer. Wages would be relatively high but I think it would be a cracking deal for them. I know the English transfer market is mental but a 12 million pound player a few years ago for nowt and for me he is still a quality player. Our best forward by a mile, in my opinion.
  3. Hopefully not mate!! To be fair I'm a considerate cyclist. I take a route to work and back which is 8 miles longer so as not to hold up traffic. Or be killed by one of the horrific drivers, which I then encounter during my working day!
  4. Magic in the end. I love that ride. So peaceful and relaxed. And the pint in the tullie inn in the glorious sunshine, with a folk band just jamming in the beer garden was glorious. If you are struggling when you come over then depending on your height then I have two bikes that I use equality as much, I wouldn't miss one for a few day buddy.
  5. My mate and I had a disaster on Sunday. We were doing the Glasgow to balloch and back route and he thought he was using my cyclocross bike and I was using my road bike, whilst I thought he was using his bike. We both travelled to Glasgow and found it to be two guys one bike as my road bike gears were getting tuned. Anyways we contacted gear bikes on Gibson street in the west end and within 5 mins had a 6"7 guy kitted out with a ridgeback tourer for 20 quid 24 hour hire. Give them a shout mate. They were excellent. Not sure on the range of hire bikes they do but saved our day out big time.
  6. WoS is clearly on a bender which has caused utter rage about pro Indy voters who voted green in any way. Got blocked tonight for daring to challenge his warpath on fellow independence supporters who dared vote for a pro Indy party which wasn't the SNP, for the record they got my consistuancy vote whilst the greens got my regional. Embarrassing. To be honest although his articles were decent his football rantings on his independence page and his clearly drunken outbursts at time made it difficult reading at times.
  7. The buza bar in Dubrovnik is quite something. Open air on the cliffs surrounding the city walls. Pretty hard to find but well, well worth the effort. Beautiful location, even if the toilets were "interesting" Probably my favourite bar I've ever been to.
  8. My brother is a season ticket holder at Goodison, lives down there now and I've been going regularly since 2000. Martinez is an extremely likeable man and his ethos on football is admirable but there are some serious doubt about his credibility as a manager. First season was outstanding. Highest points ever achieved by an Everton side in premiership. Could strongly be argued that this was down to the defensive stability left by moyes being complimented by a newly implemented attacking flair. It was a joy to behold. Last season the cracks started to appear. Big time. Defensively shocking and the amount of goals lost as a direct and indirect result of an inability to defend set pieces was inexcusable. This season started promisingly. Some great football being played but once more the inability to defend, particularly set pieces again has led to where we are now which is in a position currently where Everton have their worst home point total in their long history. Additionally players have came out and raised some genuinely staggering claims. Distin and Osman, who was particularly damning in his book, have both said that the team simply do not work on set pieces defensively or in an attacking sense. Distin was also highly critical of the fitness levels under Martinez. That is staggering incompetence and inexcusable at this level. Baines, team captain has came out on 3 occasions over the last 12 months, once to critique the shape and how exposed it left the team, he claims to have approached Martinez with his concerns which were dismissed. Twice this season he has again critiqued our defensive shape and our "chemistry". It has also been acknowledged that Martinez does not make substitutions. He leaves this massively important aspect to Graeme Jones, his assistant. Bizarre, but could work I suppose, it hasn't though. Spectacularly so at times. That's not even talking about his unbelievable loyalty to Howard, worth at least a goal a game to the opposition over the past two years, which ultimately will play a big part in his dismissal. He has in the last 8 weeks completely lost the team. Not something I like to see but it was clear as day and at that point there is rarely a route back. The fine second half performance on Saturday seemed to scream out that the players ignored instruction and went out and expressed themselves. A throughly nice guy, if not horrifically stubborn and did have some fine success at Swansea and Wigan originally but they ultimately suffered from his lack of defensive coaching ability as Everton are now. A manager who is capable of getting teams playing fabulous football but a complete lack of tactical awareness, which is a shame.
  9. My outside tip is Austria. Watched a lot of them in the group stages, in which they won 9, drew 1 and lost 0 in a group including Russia, Sweden and Montenegro, they were fantastic. Great going forward and extremely solid at the back. Got them at 50s but still best priced at 40s E/W
  10. From the tv perspective I watched it from it was just utterly unbelievable it wasn't given. Not even remotely debatable. Decent performance tonight. No more. First half we were absolutely awful with our ball retention but grew in to the game. But it still amazes me how uncomfortable on the ball some of our players can be. Decent workout but no groundbreaking information gained. Watt will be a real player for us. He has it all.
  11. Respectfully disagree on these points. Celtic's title race should not even be a consideration when picking a Scotland squad. Kinda get what you mean about his injury but every player risks injury playing for club or country. If he is deemed to be fit by our medical team then there is no issue in my mind.
  12. I'd agree ordinarily however his omission from the Celtic team has been due to long term serious injury. Snodgrass is another who has been out long term and has only played a few games since his return. Players returning from injury are completely different from selecting those out of favour. Incidentally hutton has played a lot of first team football this season. Albeit poorly.
  13. Have to say I agree with Strachan re Rhodes. Seen a lot of him and he has rarely impressed. So painfully slow. Cairney being left out is bizarre. Particularly with Kevin McDonald's inclusion. He is in fine form currently. mccormack's absence is also somewhat strange. I'd rather have watt in to be honest though. He has the ability to lead our line in the next campaign. In my opinion. shinne is extremely unfortunate, he is up against decent competition in that position though. Deserves a call up before tierney and Whittaker I'd suggest though. I'm intrigued to see Burke. Big powerful, fast and direct winger and very highly though of at Forrest. The questioning of mulgrew's inclusion puzzles me. Been one of our most consistent performers for a couple of years now and we miss him when he ain't there. His versatility is also invaluable. Can only assume it's based on an opinion formed whilst he was at Aberdeen, which is fair enough, however players develop at vastly different rates and some top class players don't perform at certain clubs then shine at others. He fully merits inclusion. All in all feeling at bit flat with these squads.
  14. Make sure you unscrew the internal valve (under the cap( when are inflating then you have to tightly screw it back when finished other wise the wee threads bit you describe will move and with every movement air will escape.
  15. Has anyone done the big belter route for the pedal for Scotland charity event? Most I've done in one day is about 80 miles on my cycle cross with slicks on which was fairly flat and leisurely, 110 miles should be achievable but was wanting an insight on the route, the difficulties and event before signing up for a charity raising thing for work. I've now got a carbon road bike which I will use for this if suitable. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated, especially as a few are reluctant but with more of us doing it the more money we will raise.
  16. Largest playing surface in scotland. I've played on hampden and lesser hampden a few times which where the two next largest I believe, at the time shotts seemed so much bigger than both. I'm not sure if another park is bigger now though. You could get a massive amount of people round that massive area. Their safety certificate probably restricts it to about 1000-2000 but easily could times that by 10 and have plenty to spare. If you don't mind standing in grass.
  17. Why would a lifelong Rangers fan write lies about what happened? Is it not far more likely a lifelong Rangers fan is absolutely sick to death of his club condoning and it could be argued endorsing this kind of antiquated behaviour that he decided to highlight it via his fortunate position as a relatively well respected journalist? In scots law this would never ever stick so the herald have been extremely weak in their handling of this. The onus of defamation would be on the director to prove. Speirs being the accused party would simply use the defence of veritas, that the statement was true. Veritas covers opinions and interactions. There is absolutely no way this could be proved one way or the other and the veritas covers both the herald and speirs. They have pandered to the threats and negative impact that results when an organisation or individual receives when they dare critic that establishment.
  18. See st Johnstone are after Blair Alston. I think that's a move Aberdeen should be making. Being a jag I've been far, far more impressed with Alston than I ever have been by bannigan who they are after. In fact sack that. The jags should be after him to improve our squad when bannigan leaves.
  19. In general terms I'd agree. However there are some exceptions. Once met a guy on holiday who had two sets of Scottish grandparents, both his parents brought up to be Scottish despite being born and living in England all their life. Subsequently he was brought up to be Scottish despite his broad southern English accent. He was so passionate about everything to do with Scotland. And definitely thought of himself as Scottish not English.I realise this is rare but a grandparent can have a massive influence on a person's life and can shape a mindset and aspirations. For this reason I can deal with the grandparent rule.
  20. I watched it on sky when it was first on. If you have an android device you can get it no problem at all on kodi, if you don't then type in the jinx episode 1, then 2 etc on Google in a video search and you'll get the full episodes on dailymotion, it's on sky again on 14th April if you have that. If you need a hand gie me a shout via pm mate
  21. Brilliant documentary. The ending is just jaw dropping stuff. Similar in style to making a murderer but from a different angle. Throughly recommended.
  22. Great information potted heid and louch. Much appreciated.
  23. Anyone done the "three ferries" http://www.cycle-route.com/routes/Three_Ferries-Cycle-Route-143.html I'm currently trying to plan a wee day oot with some boys I work with who all cycle decent distances so it'll be nae bother for them but some others who don't cycle much have shown interest. Achievable for the 1/2 times a year cyclist? And more importantly is there any decent boozers along the route to neck a pint and a bit of scran, purely for replenishing energy!!
