Norwich 2 nil down already, going to be a long hard season for Hanley and Gilmour.Ā

I can't see Norwich staying up. They don't seem to be any stronger than last time they were in the EPL, Godfrey,Lewis, Bundeia all away.Ā  Let's hope for Gilmour and Scotland's sake that you really do learn more in adversity.

Bit of a knee jerk reaction? Norwich have played Liverpool and Man City. Plenty of sides will be battered by them. TheĀ real test of whether they will stay up will be against mid and lower table type teams.Ā

David Turnbull with 3 goals today..šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁓ó æšŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁓ó æšŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁓ó æ

What a player he is. He's adapted very well to Ange's style. The only thing missing from his game last year was tenacity, and now he has that as well. He should be a big player for Scotland!Ā

Totally agree mate. He is full of confidence, what he was lacking last year thanks to Lennon. This boy will be a great player for Scotland...šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁓ó æšŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁓ó æ

Despite the shitshow that waa Celtic last year, he still ended up with the YPOTY award (deservedly). It's frightening to think what he might achieve this season. 5 goals already and it's only August!

Don't think anyone has suggested he be called up for these upcoming games. If he continues on this good form and Patterson doesn't play much then ralston might be in contention for future squads further down the line.

Fact is we don't have many good right backs, our best is probably o donnell or patterson, but if he's not playing regulary then it comes down to guys like ralston or Rooney. Not great choices but ralston has shown so far that he could be an improved player and he's still only 22.Ā

Paterson is probably the future first choice but we will need back up and so far Patterson has only played 17 first team games for rangers. He's very inexperienced and he could end up not making at rangers. Look at Middleton for example, he looked quite good when he first broke through at rangers but now it's looking like he probably won't make it there.Ā

You seem desperate to discard a guy who is only 22 and could easily improve over the next couple of years.Ā

Well said. Patterson looks to have all the attributes to be a mainstay for us but until he is playing high level regular first team football there's no guarantees.Ā

Ā  Ā  Ralston may not be the most talented but his attitude seems fantastic so if he keeps his club place ahead of their new signing he should certainly be a contender to start for his nation.Ā

Ā  Ā I'm just happy that we're able to debate the emergence of 3 or 4 potential quality right backs(Patterson, Ashby, Ramsey & Ralston) who could be fighting for places in our squad over the coming years.Ā

Ā  Ā Similar debates from quality number 9's who can finish soon please šŸ¤žšŸ˜Š

Canā€™t help thinking that he needs to add more to his game. At times itā€™s almost too easy to play in a Celtic team against sides like St.Mirren and pick up plenty of nice passes, goals and assists. Itā€™s almost not enough of a test of him as a player.Ā
Ā

Itā€™ll be interesting to see how the manager tries to develop him and his game.Ā
Ā

Letā€™s face it, if he does turn into a real talent heā€™ll be off to the Premiership like Tierney.Ā

Iā€™m not sure Ashby is in that list yet theabsentee;Ā as far as I know he is still a youth team player, albeit a promising oneā€¦?

Weā€™reĀ debating whether Ralston even deserves a place in the squad, and he has the thick end of 60 career caps including some at Champions League level. Okay, he didnā€™t set the heather alight throughout that period, but it is still light years from what Ashby has achieved.

Ashby has a way to go before he can even be discussed with the others you have listed IMO.

First goal for Gauld in the MLS this morning.Ā

Heres the highlights, pretty sure he would of been credited with the first goal had it not crossed the line from the first shot. I think gauld needs to be in future squads, real shame he chose to go to the mls but if he plays amazing there he will hopefully get a move back to Europe.Ā

Does anyone feel gilmour isnā€™t really going to get much out of Norwich,Ā

If they get hidings most weeks, he isnā€™t going much of a chance to develop.

Yeh it's going to be a tough season for him. Really hoped Norwich could do well this year given Hanley and Gilmour will be playing but Norwich look well out of their depth so far, granted they have played Liverpool and man city who are able to thrash quite alot of teams.Ā

I think a middle 3 of Turnbull, Gilmour and McGregor could be mouth-watering. Even if it means McGinn (who plays as a sitting mid for Villa these days) misses out.

C'mon, that'sĀ  a tough pair of opening fixtures they were handed. Far too early to judge. Least he's getting games; last year everyone was bemoaning the fact he wasn't even getting on the bench.

I think for Norwich, as it is for all diddy teams, it's how they do against sides that are close to them in the table that will determine their season.Ā

They'll have games that are winnable and if Gilmour can help win them then we'll see if he really is developing.

Adams starting for saints but mctominay is on the bench for united.

Surprised by that, McTominay had a good game last week.

Noticed noĀ Armstrong on bench so did the usual pre transfer day google search.

Only he Sun but,

The future ofĀ SouthamptonĀ midfielderĀ Stuart ArmstrongĀ is in doubt.

Armstrong could be moved on before the market shuts this month.

The SunĀ says Saints are wary of losing Armstrong and haveĀ CelticĀ midfielderĀ Ryan ChristieĀ lined up as a replacement.

The deal could be accelerated if formerĀ CelticĀ midfielder Armstrong moves on from St Mary's.

zero chance of this. Ā Mcginn is our best midfielder. Ā Mcginn, Mctominay and gilmour would be the three for me.
