So the feck Do I, but after listening to Boris, It looks like 2 month minimum before the pub's and restaurants reopen, and since I've been a chef for the last 27 years, I don't really have much recent experience of doing anything else, so I am pretty much fecked on the job front, at present. dandydunn
Sparky who is very good at doing as little as possible and still making the company plenty money. Had a meeting today and was told we’ve got 2-3 months work at the moment, so u less there’s drastic changes, we won’t be in any danger. Thise changes are obviously happening, so just have to see what happens. On a selfish point of view, I do have yearly EICR’s to carry out in various schools over the holiday times, so that’ll keep me going for the next 4-6 weeks after I’ve finished my other stuff as the dates will be brought forward to ASAP. If I’m forced to take time off, it will be a major pain in the arse as I hate sitting around at home, but then the utility room refurb, garden and bar will get an earlier push on that expected, so not all bad. Get yourself to an agency ASAP. My wife is a trained mental health nurse, but now is behind a desk as a nursing co sultans for one. They send about 2-3 chefs out to care homes and are often asked for more. Won’t do any harm thinking outside the box and asking the question, they may say no, but they may just be looking for someone like yourself. Good luck 👍🏽
Big Ramy 1314
Started this thread what, 3 hours ago? That's me sent home now, 3 weeks. I'm fortunate though, I will have full pay and benefits. Some lads in work were celebrating and I said, "why you celebrating?" folk are losing their jobs, their business, possibly their homes, no reason to celebrate. My wife is also sent home, but she works for the federal government so she can work from home. Honestly folks, take care of yourselves and I hope everyone comes through this..... Lobey
IT officer here - https://www.strath.ac.uk/research/advancedformingresearchcentre/ Been working from home for a week now as I have a "chest infection" - so I'm either infectious or in danger from infected 😛 On a skeleton rota now - but, don't believe we will shut up completely as we are now making parts for ventilators. runningtings
I am a contractor working on data projects, I am currently lucky to be in contract but there are plenty in my industry who are not because of Brexit and impending tax changes, and now this on top. Life changing stuff for a lot of people unfortunately.

Tiny Tim
Designer and interior architect for 30 years before selling business. Did an office for someone as a favour a couple of years ago and have since worked 3 days a week for them as a consultant. They’re a product design company. Three weeks ago they were celebrating their best ever start to the year. Two weeks ago, sales in Italy and Spain offices were down by 95% so I don’t think I’ll be there much longer. 🙁
