Guest flumax
Watched up to episode 8 last night. I think 5-8 probably weren't quite as gripping as the first 4 but still compelling nonetheless. Will be interesting to see where the last 2 episodes lead. One thing for sure is if I ever find myself up on a murder rap (only a matter of time really!) I want Strang and Buting on my team!! I enjoyed 5-8 the most, as it wasn't documentary story telling, and was real (Maybe some editing)

Jaggy Jim
Watched this over the last 3 nights, each night watching more episodes than I'd planned. Unfortunately I knew the outcome thanks to a headline on the BBC news homepage on Tuesday. You click in to the story and the first line warns you about spoilers! Bit late by then. It is very one sided although that's not entirely the film-makers fault as the prosecution and the victim's family turned down the chance to be involved. Having googled it since watching the last episode it's apparent that they left out quite a lot of evidence and my opinion is not as cut and dried as it was after watching it. The bits that shocked me most were the interviews with the nephew but on further investigation it appears that the full 3 hours plus interview that was shown to the jury at his trial reportedly shows him being much more forthcoming and lucid than was portrayed in the documentary. It's online if anyone wants to watch it.
kumnio
3 episodes into this, and it's interesting, but not exactly riveting.

Fairbairn
Something I found astonishing was that Andrew Colburn who was the one of the 2 cops effectively accused of planting evidence and framing Steve Avery was the cop who was on guard duty and escorting Brendan Dassey to and from court during his trial. Surely to God he should have been kept as far away from that trial as possible regardless of being found innocent
Boynze
The climax of episodes was jaw dropping for me.

Of course, this call was never logged until several years later when Avery was actually released from prison. He also called in a plate check on the missing lassie's car a few days after she went missing and a few days before the car was found on Avery property. This guy and the other detective definitely planted evidence. Edited January 9, 2016 by tartandon

redstevie007
####in hell The wife and I have just started watching today and we're about to start episode 3. Gripping stuff. Krantz seems a right slimy . Avery's no angel but neither is he a rapist and based on what I've seen so far I he'll turn out to be a murderer either. PASTA Mick
Watching episode 9 now. Is it just me or is the victim's brother dodgy as ? I bet it was him!
wembley67lisbon
Ex boyfriend is the one I would put my money on. Brother believed everything the police told him but he would have just wanted closure. Corrupt from start to finish. Kratz says the killing happened in the garage, but in Brendan's case they are talking about the murder happening in averys house. I know it's seperate cases but wtf. Nonsense. Hope they both get out and all those involved get the tin pail.

Dalgety Bay TA
Started watching 3pm yesterday, finished tonight. It looks, from those 10 hours, to be a total miscarriage of justice, well 3 in total if you count the nephew and the first charge. There seemed to be so many holes in the prosecution that the series has either been slanted spectacularly in Averys favour or Americans convict on hearsay. I will have to read some more on it but based on the series I would have huge issues over the finding of the key and the bullets as well as what appears to be a complete lack of her DNA in either of the suggested murder locations. Considering both were shitholes I fail to see how he could have cleaned them so thoroughly.

kumnio
Just finished watching it, so spoiler alert. I think he is probably guilty, however I also believe the police planted evidence, from a legal viewpoint, I don't see how he could be found guilty. There are so many serious questions about the justice system, it's quite damning. Apart from the two defence lawyers, pretty much everyone came across as having below average intelligence, so many incredibly dubious characters. If you read the link tartanpar posted as well as the link within that you see the documentary missed out quite a few prosecution side positives. However I do agree with you in that I think the police department made sure he was going to be found guilty... But in a completely over the top and cack handed manner. Taking 5 (?) searches before the key magically appeared on his floor, not finding the bullets until they came back in March...all which happened when Lenk was on the scene. I also come back to a complete lack of her DNA anywhere in the home or garage. If he cleaned it he cleaned it to the highest standards, not a small feat for a halfwit.
