brant grebner
What if a racist scientist had developed a cure for HIV that would save millions of lives but would only release it if he could go live on the telly point at a wee boy in a kilt, hold his nose and say "euuch he stinks. Just like all jocks stink"? Would racisms be unacceptable then?

buckielugger
And only just realised (I guess not being a lifelong contributor here like some seem to be) that Scunnered backs independence! Good for u Scunnered, clearly an even better person than I already thought Certainly the SNP are not the sole guardians of independence, although realistically they are the only party who can deliver it. Hence why I back them. After independence all parties come back into play....and as a lifelong socialist I would hope the left would prosper greatly. I said to my good friend and occasional lover Cove Sheep before the referendum was announced "The SNP are the only party who can deliver a referendum, but they will not deliver independence". I still stand by that. I spent the majority of my time campaigning with the RIC and spent a fair amount of time having to convince people that the day after a Yes vote the campaign to unseat the SNP government would begin such is the split of opinion. We'll see in the coming years how SNP support translates into support for independence, but at the moment I'm not convinced. Next step for me is to hopefully see Labour ousted as opposition in favour of SSP/Green/Scottish Left taking up that position and preferably reducing SNP to a minority. Will keep them honest and go a way to showing people that the polarising SNP don't have a monopoly on independence.

I agree with this and my position has always been we can only achieve independence through the SNP but after we are free things will change.I won't know who I will vote for in an independent Scotland until I see what the different parties manifestos are. Currently I can't see myself ever voting for a party that treats us like the Labour party do.

I would like a pro-Yes majority, but I think the SNP have been relatively poor in government since 2011 compared to their 2007-2011 stint. I have a sneaky feeling that the Conservatives may end up being the second biggest party or at least not far behind Labour next year although behind the SNP by some distance. aaid
Just read the dossier - is that all they have got? If they had been genuine in wanting to "clean up" Twitter then even just looking at pro-Indy posters then it wouldn't be difficult for them to come up with much much worse. That wasn't the point though, it was to score cheap points at the SNP, so they could only target those posters who had self- identified as SNP members and given that they've trawled back through years of tweets, this is all they got. Orraloon
Mines is much bigger That statement could be taken a number of ways, obviously. If your dossier is much bigger than the SNP members then stop it, you foul mouthed fuker. Typing obscenities isn't helpful. 5 inches is "much bigger" than 3 inches, but that doesn't mean it is very big. Everything in relative. Absolutely - they'll have thought that Sturgeon has opened pandora's box by having the decency of being critical of the actions of some people on twitter. They'll expect that their dossier would force her hand to start banning party members and this would snowball and end-up with in-fighting in the SNP as disgruntled people who have been banned then turn on the party. It's absolute cheap shots and immature politics.

They all knew it was a lie but they also know there are plenty fok in the SNP who would happily stop funding the Queen at all. Divide and Conquer - it's worked before they hope it will work again. Pool Q
A friend is one of those named in the dossier. I haven't seen it myself but she apparently refers to Brown and Darling as 'traitors' in a post. Thing is, she was apparently talking about their decisions not to stand at the last election, and she was referring to them as traitors to the Labour Party, in a 'rats deserting a sinking ship' way. Not a wording I'd have used myself, but equally not cybernat territory I'd have thought.

The times still has the queen story as its top article in the Scotland section of its website. Despite already correcting itself in another article that's already been removed. At best it's shocking journalism.

I'm surprised that Labour are so offended by the word 'traitor', since it features in the chorus of their official anthem.
