er yir macaroon
ridiculous comments about a young player.
ProudScot
Embarrassing, wrong, worrying and above all ridiculous statement from Sbragia. Get him the fek out of that role right now
teecee-
Looks like another inadequate kid found out. We make a habit of building up the next " great thing".
College_Boy
Possibly its the coaching that's being found out - Physical and runners - Its like school football! Why do we persist in going to just win games rather than develop talent and a team? Do you think the coaching of the U18's at Barca or Madrid even entertain the same thoughts? No its about talent and skill, not about being able to knock your opponent off the ball then run like a headless chicken.
runningtings
I am genuinely amazed at these comments, physical and runners, which Spain/Brazil/Argentina player is like that? What a joke, hopefully the lad will take it in his stride.
teecee-
At an age if good enough, should be on first team bench at least.

Squirrelhumper
I'd be amazed if Harper makes it at Real, even to get close to the first team, however those comments are unbelieveable. Borderline sacking offence. We're trying to get away from that mindset. Mental.

Borderline sacking offence. We're trying to get away from that mindset. Mental. Who was the last player who came through the Real youth set up and established themselves in the first team? Casillas? If so it shows what a hard task it is to establish yourself in that team. However it doesn't stop many of the players who do come via the youth set up having pretty good careers. This Wiki has a decent list of notable players but even the likes of Carvajal had to move away before they came back. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_F%C3%A1brica

Bzzzz
What a disgraceful thing to say. Smacks of jealousy from an old man if you ask me. Harper sounds like he should be being taken advantage of and used to the best of his abilities. Nae wonder we struggle to produce decent young players with attitudes and dinosaurs like that in coaching positions, get him te fk pronto. Hope
Ridiculous thing to say. He has the totally wrong attitude, get him, and anyone with the same mindset the fk away from our setup asap Edited March 24, 2015 by Hope
Caledonian Craig
Well we know Strachan lkes selecting youngsters to have a look at well I believe Harper should be that one in the next squad. After all these commnts could turn his thoughts away from Scotland which would be criminal. If Wee Gordon callas him up at least he will know that someone far more important than the U-21 boss values him.
ParisInAKilt
This is bigger than just Harper though. Wonder what his team talks and training is like? Really surprised by these comments, always thought he was a progressive coach.
Tartan blood
"I've gone for a physical side and runners" So essentially winning is far more important than playing our most talented youths. The unders are supposed to be a way of preparing future internationalists for the main team. The over-developed physical players are the ones that excel at this age but are found out once the more gifted players catch up. I'm genuinely gutted about this. It would feel almost like a hollow victory if we did go onto win it.
hursty
I honestly thought we were getting away from this mindset - pick the big strong guys for youth football and then wonder why they look like cluggers once we get to senior level. Clearly not though. Really gutted to read those comments - it beggars belief if that is indeed a genuine quote.
gaz7
Sbragia go and sit in a dark room and dont come out. We have by all accounts the top Real Madrid youth player as shown on the champ league youth games and also by various people who have watched the games but we say he is a luxury! Please Gordon Strachan go and get him to FCK as I am sure you will. Physical and runners is it any wonder we have been pish for so long.I am absolutely raging with this. Robroysboy
I must say I find this a strange decsion but we don't know all teh facts. Maybe there is more to this strory ? I am sure Jacks time will come and he does not see this as a snub. Does he qualify for any other countries?
1ANDYP
Wonder what mark wotte would have made of this. I thought all our teams would play a 433 and play possession football.not just hoofing it up to the big guy. A disgrace from a so called qualified coach

The only defence can be if the comments are made up.
