  1. Nothing to do with fashionability. Opinion on a footballer is all. Agreed he needs games, although he got some with Celtic and flattered to deceive for the most part.
  2. You would be incorrect and I don’t dislike him, I just think he’s, until now, unjustified hype. Do you think he’s a good footballer?
  3. Any footballer should be capable of scoring from there, not sure that really dispels the no technique criticism. The alternative view was that Strachan as manager judged his performance and presumably, what he’d seen in training and decided he wasn’t what was required. It felt to me that Strachan started him because there was so much clamour for Burke (due to him being fast and expensive) he had to play him. He did, he was awful and he got rightly hooked. Whatever you think of GS, he had that right as the manager. Faddy was a proven and established player so I don’t agree with the comparison. ive never rated Burke and have always been confident in my opinion on him, however I was very interested that Rodgers was glowing in his appraisal of him, that made me think he’s worth persevering with. You’ve just got to think he’s got to be working on improving his touch, even a slight improvement makes him a force to be reckoned with.
  4. In the course of time Burke has proved that he was mainly hype, hype accorded mainly due to his undoubted physical attributes . From the first time I seen him in the under 21’s tgere has been very little evidence of actual footballing ability. His touch is nothing short of embarrassing. I still remember the absolute outrage on here when Strachan left him on the bench and I think also dropped him for the second leg of a double header and being branded an idiot for doing so.
  5. Not my recollection of that game. I remember thinking this game is an Ireland goal away from quite a lot of trouble potentially. Was very tense I felt.
  6. Exactly. Tge first game he played there for us we were all convinced that was our right back for 10 years. The next few performances weren’t at that level but I don’t think we should take the option off the table.
  7. Apart from being negative they are both woefully inept and Crocker is a condescending prick and an embarrassment of a commentator. Continually dumbfounded that he remains sky’s Premier Scottish commentator
  8. That was nowhere near good enough and a poor first managerial performance to match. All for experimenting and these are the games for it however it should be around what will be the core of the team going forward. This was just a bunch of players thrown together hoping it would click or someone would shine, neither of which happened. As some posters have said it was very reminiscent of the Bertie era. Very disappointing.
  9. Like most are saying this just means KT is the captain elect. Think Mulgrew is under rated though, good player, composed, threat in the box. No complaints from me on him being selected or getting captaincy.

    Absolutely shameful statement.
  11. Indeed. It’s hardly a cold hard fact that Robertson is better than Tierney, and if I had to put money on who in ten years time will have been the better player I’d be siding with KT. Regardless there’s no point in trying to create division around 2 of our best players, both of whom every Scotland fan wants to see in the team at the same time.
  12. We might as well appoint Martin O’Neill!
  13. Unfortunately this is an accurate assessment of his career thus far. For RBL to dump him after a season, in which he was given very few opportunities speaks volumes in my opinion, further compounded by the same at West Brom, not to mention strachan hooking him at half time and subsequent omissions from the squad , for which he was wrongly lambasted. We’ll see what transpires, and he is still young, but it’s hope more than expectation from where I’m sitting.
  14. Yes back on topic. Gallagher has clearly stated he has opted to play for England rather than Scotland, he can fuck off.
  15. He didn’t actually peak though did he. Or if he did we should give up on him now
  16. Nicholas talks some amount of pish on most occasions and I think he’s wrong about SMcT. However, good on him for actually coming out and criticising the bullshit eligibility rules and saying what they are and what they actually represent in reality. First time I’ve heard a pundit have a say on this, other than the, ‘thems the rules’ cop out we normally get.
  17. Adams, Barnes, Gallagher. Not an ounce of Scottishness between them. Inspiring stuff. Can’t ever remember not watching a Scotland game but the next one is a contender if this is what the squads gonna be like.
  18. I see Charlie Nicholas has plenty to say about him choosing Scotland!
  19. My feelings exactly. Let’s hope he continues to get his opportunities
  20. Grow a pair son? Wise up. Like I said if he turns out to be a better player then no argument. Personally I think you should wait for a another season or so before you make a mess of your trousers, son.
  21. Without trying to pour cold water over this either you’ve got to wonder if he will be a first team /squad member in the long term. You can’t help he’s been a pawn in the Pogba saga to some extent. But probably more importantly, I can’t see mourinho getting away with united playing they way they are for another season, they are brutal, you have to wonder if he’ll find space for McTominay with Matic, Pogba, Herrera already there.
  22. Can’t ask for more than that really. Opted to play for us and rejects option to speak to England. Welcome onboard Scott. However I don’t think he should be walking into our team just yet. I wonder how must McGinn feel? He’s been seemingly getting primed to step into browns shoes but looks like this lad will just shove him out the way. Fair enough if he’s a better player but he’s not proven that yet.

For every good performance Shelvey puts in there’s 3 or 4 when he’s invisible, as was the case last weekend. Brown by a mile.
  24. So bribe a 21 year old who has proven the square root of fuck all so far by offering him the captaincy. Let’s see what’s he’s done in a couple of years time before we start dishing out the special player stuff. He looks neat and tidy I’ll give you that. Anyway, the only question Alex needs to ask is are you Scottish. Offering incentives is fucking embarrassing and pathetic.
  25. Offered him the captaincy? Jesus Christ. Fuck him. I’m glad he’s chosen them
