It think most people in Scotland probably recognise the bottom line in your later post ("Ukraine a democracy has been invaded by a oppressor") but there is plenty of room for scepticism or criticism about the handling of things by the West and/or what we should do about it. I mean there was plenty of debate on Iraq, say, by people genuinely beliving they were on the side of "democracy/anti dictatorship" without that meaning that the level of debate should question the advisibility for a country to be independent.
