Malcolm
Looks like we have a striker crisis now... who is in form, playing at a decent level, and scoring goals?
JECK
Shanklands on fire at the mo, reminds of Kenny Dalglish...(awaits pillory)
vanderark14
Dykes will be upfront with another. I guess it will depend who is on form.

I think he will play as long as he doesn’t lose his place in the qpr side

Taylor1996
It's a good question. Dykes, probably. He Is playing regularly, and starting for QPR. The job of Dykes, in our system, is to be the foil for his strike partner and the attacking midfielder. We have to rely on movement runners from midfield. Failing that, we could try McTominay up front. He is the best finisher we have. I don't trust Nisbet or Shankland, McBurnie, Burke or Paterson. (Wouldn't even have Shankland and Paterson in the squad)
ParisInAKilt
The majority of our goals will come from midfield.

Most folk on here seem to focus on the striker as the main source of goals. We have an abundance of goal scoring midfielders.
ceudmilefailte
Cooper had 5 attempts at goal last night and 4 were on target, could stick him up front for a laugh.

We were really dangerous at corners in our last game. the 12 most predictable corners in the history of world football if I remember correctly. Bored so had a look, against the Czech's over the two games we had one corner they had twenty Over Coopers 180 minutes in the recent games we had four corners. Diamond Scot
I wouldnt say we are any worse off now than previously. I dont think anybody thought Dykes was going to score loads in England. If he is fit he will play regardless of game time for QPR. Shankland has shown he isnt the top level striker people hoped he was. Griffiths wont ever be back due to attitude / mental health problems. McBurnie will play but not score many in the EPL. Best we can hope for is that the midfield have their shooting boots on and a striker hits abit of unexpected form. ProudScot
Steven Fletcher is probably the most in form and regularly playing striker just now

Shankland can show he can do it against a high level of opposition tomorrow too. Although he's probably going to have to rely on his teammates to give him a chance. In his 5/10 minute cameos in the last set of internationals Shankland showed he was technically better and more suited to international football than McBurnie. Shankland should just be a squad bench option. McBurnie should be behind; Dykes, Griffiths, Nisbet, Shankland, Fletcher, Burke & probably even Jordan Rhodes. Caledonian Craig
Obviously, Dykes will start up front. Not up for debate. Clarke will select the players who have done the job for him and striker-wise that is Dykes. Club form is handy but irrelevant if a player can still put in a shift at international level which Dykes has always managed to do for us. The only question will be who will play the supporting attacking midfielder role - at present the favourites for that role are the two Ryans - Christie and Fraser. Think I am starting to like the idea of a 3 4 2 1 formation with McGinn and Mctominay in central midfield. Dykes upfront with any two of Christie,Turnbull, Armstrong, Gauld, and Fraser in behind. Could add McGinn to the list by playing Jack in central midfield in his place. Your right though bar a total formation change it has to be Dykes up front, even though he isn't scoring, QPR have started winning and he starts every game. gkm_vancouver
McGinn is probably our top scorer in the last couple of years but now playing deeper. Would be good if some of our other players could get amongst the goals before our next matches but quite a few are off form, not scoring or not playing regularly. Pity the Faroe Islands is the last of the triple header so the Austria and Israel games are likely to be low scoring.
