mccaughey85
Liam Cooper could be the quality centre back we are looking for. Guy is 29 so should be around for a good few years at least. Certainly been decent for Leeds United in his first season in the epl.

Think it was the game v Slovakia where he made a fantastic last-ditch tackle to save a certain goal in the penalty area. If he mistimes it it's a penalty. One of the best central defenders in the EPL according to who scored, no mean feat considering how poor the Leeds defensive record looks. Leeds are a breath of fresh air mind you with their attitude towards attacking play. Great to know we have cover for Declan Gallagher. Burj_Alba
In ex Scotland players in action Phillips and Snoddy start for West Brom, Fleck starts for Sheffield.

mccaughey85
Can Sheffield United stay up, would certainly be good for Burke, mcburnie and fleck in terms of getting picked for future Scotland squads.

wee-toon-red
Lyndon Dykes won’t be worrying about Hornby taking his place any time soon, although in fairness the boy hasn’t played much this season and wasn’t exactly helped by his new team mates. ceudmilefailte
Lot of good reviews for McBurnie on the Sheffield United forum, came on at half time with them losing 1-0 and helped them turn the game around to win 2-1. They appear to have played a 3-4-2-1 formation in the second half with McBurnie as one of the two. A few people on there seem to think he is wasted as a target man and that he is a lot better on the ground than people think. Good to see him fit again. Dykes hasn't scored in 12 games, I would imagine he is worried about anyone and everyone taking his place. broraboy
So Jordan Rhodes has scored more goals than Oli McBurnie this season 👍 Albeit in a lower League!

He’s garbage and has scored maybe 1 goal in a year? Fleck has been playing well and is getting back to his best though.

I get that we were severely lacking high quality centre backs when he was first put there, but Hanley, Hendry, McKenna, and Cooper have all been in pretty good form since then. Where as Callum McGregor has not been anywhere near his best in months. I hope we try McTominay out in midfield in at least 1 of our next 3 games and see how it goes. It’s a mentality thing as much as anything. Dykes is a proper competitor, McBurnie doesn’t seem one for the trenches. Dykes also has pace.
