Nicky Devlin must be getting close to being the best right/back in the league outside the Old Firm, another decent game against Celtic today. He’d adjust to wing-back no problem, has played there a number of times for Livingston.

I also thought the young Right-back for Celtic today looked a decent prospect, Ralston, I think his name is?

Ralston was horrible.

McGregor and Turnbull offered nothing either. Tidy in possession but no penetration.

He put a lovely ball across the face of goal, only needed a touch and it was surely a goal.

He also misplaced several passes, one of which put Livi 1 on 1 with the last defender. Got a stupid booking and generally looked out of his depth even against a Scottish Prem team.

He is so far off the standard required of a Scotland player, now or in the future.

The reality.

Its looking really promising regarding this kid. Hopefully stays at Wigan for a bit longer and gets some good experience even though its league 1.

I kind of agree. Definitely one worth keeping an eye on. I'd prefer to see him get a move to maybe a Championship club and see how he performs at a slightly higher level for a year or two rather than see him stay at Wigan then be catapulted up to an EPL club where it may prove too big a step up.

Pretty much this. Unless Celtic are going to try and set a lowest appearances for a testimonial record, he will be gone in the summer.

The way he handled himself with Bournemouth and his move was shite, billy big baws and look where he is now, making sub appearances for a team that will be fighting relegation. Quality stuff

George Johston made his debut for Wigan today and helped them keep a clean sheet, no mean feat considering Wigan had let in 17 goals in their last 6 games.

WhoScored gave him a rating of 7.5 , a baw hair away from man of the match and a fair bit better than everyone else on the pitch.

While it is only a ratings site if he was to average 7.5 over the period he would be far too good for League 1.

That’s promising. Was he playing centre back or left back?

Center back thank goodness.

Good.

He won’t get picked for us at the back playing in league 1 but atleast this will give him experience to go back to Feyenoord and/or stick him in the shop window for someone to sign him in the summer

Nathan Patterson & Ryan Jack off the bench for Rangers both looked good but it was a rout.

Kai Kennedy won a pen and set up a goal for Raith v Hearts

Considine scored for the Dons

Patterson did look good. Played some early balls across the face. He also went past players with ease when he had the confidence to attempt it.

You have to hope that being 60 points clear Patterson will get some game time now. I just wonder if his future lies elsewhere because you can't imagine Tavernier going anywhere.

There’s a good chance Tavernier may get interest from the EPL in the summer. That being said there will be plenty games next season for Patterson with the champions league added in for Rangers

It really depends. Patterson is not long turned 19, while Tav is 29 and has 18 months left on his deal. If Tav doesn't sign a new deal, then he will be sold and Patterson's gametime goes through the roof. If Tav does sign a new deal then Patterson probably plays slightly more than this season. Personally if Tavernier signs a new deal, I'd loan Patterson out to a decent SPL side and sign someone on a short term deal to back up Tav. He'll be 20 next season and only playing 10-15 games at that age wouldn't be as good for his development as a full season at somewhere like Hearts or Ross County.

Patterson after months of first team training and shadowing Tav, looks a far better player than he did against Lech in his last appearance. He looks a lot more mature, stronger and confident in attack.

Jack came on like a man possessed. He had a fantastic cameo.

He gets a lot of he's not very good or there's better players from Rangers and Scotland fans. But he really is key to Rangers style and it's no coincidence that rangers dip in form post Aberdeen at home has coincided with Jack being injured. He is a key player for Rangers and Scotland whether certain people like it or not.

Jack is a very good player and he transformed himself into a first pick key player for Rangers & also cemented his place in the Scotland squad.

He’s someone who for me is starting quality for Scotland but it’s a very competitive position.

Eventually, you’d hope, McTominay can move into midfield & you’d expect McTomiany & Gilmour to nail down two of the midfield starting berths. Jack will be in the mix though definitely.

It looks like Patterson is the best right back prospect Scotland have had since Hutton & it would be nice to see Tavernier sold as from what you can see Patterson is ready to start & won’t be long till he’s in international reckoning.
