Jersey Jim
Burnley have just paid £15M for a defender from championship side Middlesbrough ( who I’ve never heard of ) puts into perspective what Aberdeen were up against. Edited to say I’ve heard of Middlesbrough but not the defender 😀 Edited August 3, 2018 by Jersey Jim

Edited to say I’ve heard of Middlesbrough but not the defender 😀 You should have done! Gibson has been called up to the England squad, has played in the EPL and was linked to several big moves before this one. He's not exactly unknown, however your general point is correct. Aberdeen's record fee remains Paul Barnard from sometime last century. I'm sure if Aberdeen had a fraction of that sort of money they could get a half decent striker and a bit more depth and not only beat Burnley but give Celtic a run as well. I got that spectacularly wrong. Fair play to Aberdeen. Outstanding effort over the two legs and unfortunately just came up a little short. Currently dining on a very large portion of humble pie. You have always been and remain a gentleman. 23 hours ago, Mox said: Aberdeen slightly unfortunate but didn't do enough to go through. Burnley were there for the taking though and if Aberdeen had a manager with even a modicum of attacking creativity, they would have went through. Aberdeen have the same manager that got a clean sheet and all three points at Celtic Park the last recent visit. 3 hours ago, macy37 said: Was there any Hun style fighting at Burnley the other night or was that poster who predicted a riot a slavering cunt? No, no fighting. I haven't met 'Slasher' yet but that would seem a very harsh assessment.

slasher
I'm pleased the Burnley tie went off well. Most Aberdeen fans seem to have headed straight for the cricket club which was the smart move. If you read all of the thread above though there are reports of some scuffles and coin throwing by Aberdeen fans? So maybe not all the angelic love in being painted. Nonetheless the fans and the team gave it a right good go in the main. It'll be interesting to see if they carry that forward to tomorrow's game or whether it'll be the usual 'shite yar breeks' effort they normally reserve for the visit of Der hun!
