McTeeko
Marshall started today for Hull (captain) with McGregor as sub but that was just for the cup game. McGregor is their first choice. Having our second and third choice keepers at the same club is nae good....

I am shocked that Marshall is not pressing to be farmed out on loan at least and makes it known he's not happy being second choice.
Guest allyc
Tbh it might be the best thing as far as scotland is concerned.none from gordon, mcgregor or marshall are getting any younger and we need to think about blooding a new keeper...question is who? ProudScot
Jordan Archer. 4 friendlies coming up to blood a new keeper. Craig Gordon is 36 this year, thatβs maybe his career finished? Hope not but probably the end of his Scotland days.Β

We could do with giving Jordan archer a try as he is only 24 and could potentially go on to be an epl goalkeeper.

He does seem to make howling mistakes, but his goals conceded stats and the views of the Millwall fans seem to suggest he is very good. Let in three goals last week and was benched yesterday. So rather than have 2 Scotland keepers at Hull we'd have 2 Scotland keepers at Celtic instead ?

For competitive matches we should be picking out best players regardless of if they are 17 or 40. Gordon, Marshall and McGregor are our best keepers by some way. Sure, do a bit of experimenting for friendlies but play our best team in competitive matches.
mccaughey85
2 hours ago, fringo said: So rather than have 2 Scotland keepers at Hull we'd have 2 Scotland keepers at Celtic instead ? Well Gordon has just got a serious injury and is 35 so for longer term planning Marshall would be able to take over from him as he is only 32. End of the day we may only have a couple of years left of McGregor and Gordon so Marshall and Jordan archer will be the first picks in a few years imo. Sorry but I just cant go with the age thing plus when did we last use a goalkeeper as a substitute? In Italy years ago? I not saying don't play your older players just don't pick them to sit on the bench. We talk on here about a lot of young players and the only wayΒ to bring them through is to select them and play them if needed in competitive games. Rude Gullit
How's Jack Ruddy getting on at Ayr? Way too early for him but he's a prospect. Other than that it'd make sense for Marshall to go to Celtic on loan for the rest of the season and for him to return to the international number 1 slot. Have to be getting Archer or another younger keeper in the squad every time now though Β
KirkieRobRoy
Given his role in Hearts' long line of shutouts, surely McLaughin is worth a punt?
