Shaundy
The report wasn’t there last night . Upto 3am at least . The result wasn’t even on the red button. and I know it was live on bbc Alba cos I watched it thanks anyway
KirkieRobRoy
Interesting read. Though I'll always be dubious about her for, like Kim Little, signing up for Teamgeebee. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/54401792
Toepoke
Pretty routine win for the ladies v Albania at Tynecastle last night. Tougher test away to Finland on Tuesday though...
weekevie04
Live on BBC Alba with about 20 mins to go, 1-0 down in Finland. They could have been 2 or 3 nil up in the first half, but squandered their chances. Huffing and puffing a bit now, but not really creating anything or breaking down the Finnish defense - been absolutely solid. Some crunching tackles in the game too, looks a lot rougher than the man's game. Crichton had a cracking shot from about 40 yards out which the keeper did well to turn it around. Weir is probably the stand out. Looks a terrific player. Cuthbert seems to try a bit too much at times, the team overall in general - a bit like that Arsenal side that tired to walk it in to the net. Hanson off the bench (for us) looks pretty decent too. Done well. A game they could well have won, or at least got a draw from, looks like they'll squander. Toepoke
Sloppy performance against a physical but unremarkable team. First defeat in nine games I think so you can't be overly critical, but any more slip ups in the group and they'll be up against it for qualification. Toepoke
Mirroring the last couple of mens games, numerous chances squandered leading to a 1-0 defeat. Qualification out of their hands now😕

Trying to walk the ball in rather than shooting. Need to seriously up their game for Tuesday. Now need to win the last three and probably hope for another draw between Finland and Portugal to top the group.
weekevie04
They had the same issue against Finland. Played reasonably well, but trying too much and couldn't score. These two results are probably going to stop them from qualifying. Unless, they do win the next three and get a favour in the Finland-Portugal game. That will be no gimme though, there's some good sides sitting 2nd in other groups.
ThistleWhistle
They’re jinxed at the minute. Better side for 90 minutes but no confidence in front of goal. Last kick of the game Finland player through 1 on 1; keeper slips but somehow manages to save it; ball spins up hits same Finish lass square in coupon and trickles in. Super_Scotlandfan
They’re out now. Obviously unlucky with that last goal and the fact they had so much good possession in the right areas, creating so many chances. But such poor composure from every player that touched the ball anywhere near the box. But it’s a bit of a shocker that they haven’t finished first in this group, finishing second was the absolute minimum. Scotland have 3 or 4 players in the 11 way, way ahead of the class of Portugal’s or Finland’s. Kerr is lucky to keep her job after this. I have no idea why she hasn’t tried anyone else. I can’t believe Alexander is the best available. The Finnish and Portuguese keepers were probably the difference. Toepoke
Not sure how much influence Kerr has had with her self isolating this week but serious questions need to be asked of the management team. That's three losses in a row that should've been draws at the absolute worst and would've kept them in contention. Knocked out as top seeds in the group with two games to spare, totally unacceptable. Really galling with the finals just being down the road in England
robbo cop
Watched the match on Alba channel, should have won with the chances/ possession we had. Agree Kerr will be lucky to keep her job as they are under achieving big time. No reason why the likes of Darren Fletcher cannot step in ( If he wanted to) in the same way as Neville has done for England.

Really galling with the finals just being down the road in England I assume she picked the starting line ups. But didn’t look like there was direct contact down to the bench during the game? The fact she was self isolating will probably save her from any pressure. Really disappointing as it looked like women’s football was on a good trajectory in Scotland. A tournament in 2022 would have meant more exposure, more ££, and more chance of girls taking up the game. And yeah particularly because it’s in England, there will be huge media exposure in the UK. BucksburnDandy
Anna Signuel absolutely doing a number on Shelley Kerr and her assistant over 180 minutes over the past few weeks. To not even get a playoff from this group and with the finals in England, Shelley Kerr should really be gone but the self isolation will allow her to stay. Can't admit to being Kerr's biggest fan before now and I was probably in the stick with Anna Signuel camp back in 2017. Really disappointed for the women tonight. Horrible to miss out in such a fashion.
ThistleWhistle
Genuinely feel a bit gutted as wanted to take my wee lass down England to see them in Euros. Benefit of 20/20 hindsight but there was definitely something not right in the pissed up fallout from the World Cup and there's been a hangover since for me. The game v Portugal was as bad as I've seen them play in yonks and always felt Portugal were likely to pinch it. Last night we were miles the better team and looked like it had dawned on them they were on the verge of getting knocked out but just lacked any sort of composure in the final third. They've blown their Pot 1 seeding especially considering Finland were the weakest Pot 2 side. To not even get a playoff spot out of that group is surely unacceptable and things have quite obviously gone backwards since the World Cup. Toepoke
Been watching the women's game for a few years now and the biggest improvement has been the standard of defending and goalkeeping. In previous campaigns Scotland would have won the last couple of games comfortably, but they came up against well drilled, physical opponents who were difficult to score against. On the other hand the defence remains the weakest part of our team and it seems it only requires one decent opportunity to get a goal against us, as happened in the last three games. That is the area of the team that needs to be strengthened if we are to have any chance of reaching the 2023 World Cup. I suppose a few of the squad will have the Olympics to look forward to next year but that's another debate... KirkieRobRoy
Crucial pick, here. Women's team were on a big upward curve but the last two tournament Exits have been worryingly Scottish. They need to get the recruitment right. Still, faith in the SFA, eh?
