Holty
The London thread got me thinking about this. Of the cities you have visited what are your top 5? Not Greatest, just best fun, most beautiful etc. I'll go for: 1. New York 2. Prague 3. London 4. Paris 5. Berlin

Auld_Reekie
In thinking about this, I've realised I've not been to that many cities at all. Have enough for 5 but not sure some would make a genuine top five. Wasn't impressed with Paris at all for example. That said, Tokyo would have to be in there. Incredible city. euan2020
I thought Budapest and Bangkok were not so great Cape Town where I have lived last 5 years is up there. Toronto is good as well , really nice place.
DonnyTJS
Austin Osaka Sheffield Hong Kong (in early 2000s, gone downhill since) Cairo (30 years ago; wouldn't recommend it now) Overrated: Amsterdam Bangkok Pretty much all central European cities that attract 'staggers' Unsure about Cape Town - its setting is stunning but like the country it's still feels badly ####ed up

ParisInAKilt
I like small cities Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney have been good places to live. The Asian cities I've visited are just massive, busy, dirty and mental. Not all a bad thing for a few days. Barcelona, Rome and Berlin have been great places to visit as well in Europe. Really liked Tblisi as well.

DonnyTJS
If that's the one in Texas, several seasoned travelers have mentioned that as the best "town" in America. Yup, that's the one. Worked there for a few months in 1985. It's got a lot hipper since then.

DonnyTJS
they do mention the one problem is it's in Texas. Yeah, but it's quite unlike its region. Like Leeds and Yorkshire. But totally different.
