Kittymeister
i take it Celtic are the only team not to have a poppy on their strip this weekend? Did they write a letter explaining why?

dipped flake
Really, I know plenty of hearts fans who are embarrassed by the way the McCraes battalion is now being seized upon by hearts to make them a "special" club. What about the suggestion they are benefiting financially from this? Really, I know plenty of hearts fans who are embarrassed by the way the McCraes battalion is now being seized upon by hearts to make them a "special" club. What about the suggestion they are benefiting financially from this? rubbish and no idea what you are on about us benefiting financially from this. No idea what 'this' is? If you mean the poppy shirts all extra profits are going to charities. Maybe you could take a leaf out of your chairman, or whatever position he holds now, Mr Petrie, who I met today while he represented the hundreds of hibs fans and players that joined McCraes at the Haymarket memorial today, showing respect to all the fallen and not trying to score cheap points
dipped flake
Really? I've always thought that Hearts have went about Remembrance in a dignified and respectful way. true but some hibs fans try and use the occasion to have a go at our club. of course there will always be a few idiots who try and take the links between HMFC and the 1st World War too far but the club have always handled it just right IMO

ErsatzThistle
Some people are just getting waaaayyyy too carried away with the whole "is he wearing a poppy", "No !, "The wee bastird !" Personally I think getting one's arse down to the library or a regimental museum and researching your ancestors who fought in WW1 is a much more fitting tribute to them. Just my opinion anyway. I wish this whole recently jazzed up, all singing, all dancing Remembrance Week could be discontinued. Preferred the quiet, dignified way it was years ago. Kenneth Farrington
Does he really need to explain himself? Does anyone? I've not worn one since my BBs days. Gone are the days it used to just be about the folk who died in WW1&2.

King Of Paisley
Ironic that people who are arguing about whose wearing a poppy and who ain't when the symbol is commemorating brave men who fought to give us the freedom to allow us to make just such a decision. Be thankful that I have the right to make that decision than speaking German.

phart
Full disclosure, that's all. Shouldn't you disclose you're an embittered fan of a team that has just lost a game to Celtic, since full disclosure seems a primary concern?
