Haggis_trap
^ The most horrible thing I have ever seen watching live football. Thoughts with Christian Ericksen and his family. Please let him pull through this! Wonderful player - The Danes are a great nation. Can't help but wonder / speculate if his collapse is related to a recent covid vaccine... Very unusual for athlete in their prime to collapse like that.
Caledonian Craig
Great news that Erikssen is recovering (hopefully) in hospital. It looked dire there for a time. It was like watching an unfolding nightmare. I thought the medics ambled instead of sprinted across the pitch. He could have had a heart attack or a fit as when he lay on ground his legs were twitching as if convulsing.
Taylor1996
I have the match on TiVi. There was no sign of it. Erikson was just running to receive the shy, he then just collapsed. Initially I thought he swallowed his tongue. But then I saw the CPR and thought heart attack. Hopefully he pulls through.
Burj_Alba
Got to say both teams here and the medical people ( and fans) were well above and beyond the call of duty. Massive respect to all of them.
kumnio
Horrible to see stuff like that, looks like he has pulled through though. His teammates and the medical staff responded immediately, probably saving his life.
jcs
The DANISH F.A. have said the match will be restarted at 7-30 as discussed with all parties involved agreeing, surely that's got to be a positive on Christian Eriksen condition 😁

Fair play to them, can’t imagine what it must be like as team mates to watch that and then you’re back out playing a hour later.

There were several players wandering around the pitch in tears - Danes and Finnish players. Mind you they probably prefer it over the alternative to re-arrange for tomorrow or later and probably at an empty stadium. Can't see any real ultra competitive stuff going on here so might end up 0-0 anyway.

Taylor1996
100% a penalty. The defender's left knee collides with the attacker's left foot. Edited June 12, 2021 by Taylor1996

Morrisandmoo
That penalty decision is exactly why the game in England is utter shite to watch these days. It used to be the "foreign" referees" who gave significantly softer decisions in international tournaments, relative to British domestic competition. Now it's the English that are the outliers, with a warped view of what football ought to be (i.e. non-contact). By contrast, really enjoyed the refereeing of the Italy v Turkey game, which had a good flow to it.

Never a penalty in a million years unlike the Welsh guy who was pulling the Swiss guys shirt in the box earlier in the day.
