ErsatzThistle
In your opinion who are the best non-Old Firm foreign players to have played for a team in Scotland ? Remember, it's the best foreign players that never played for the Old Firm ! English, Welsh and Irish players will also count as "foreign" for discussions sake. Foreign lower league legends can get an honourable mention too. Gilles Rousset would be one I'd nominate. Top goalie for Hearts.

wanderer
Hans Gillhaus. Other one I always looked on with envy was Kjell Olofsson, due to the fact he always seemed to score against us

Rossy
George Best at Hibs. Zoltan Varga at the Dons. As mentioned, Hans Gillhaus....European cup winner and Dutch internationalist, left PSV to sign for Aberdeen . I would have mentioned Theo Snelders, who was up there with Leighton as the best keeper ever to play for Aberdeen, but he made the bizarre mistake of signing for Rangers. killiefaetheferry
For Killie, really enjoyed watching Eremenko, Cocard, Dindeleux, and Drago Lekovic. Special mention for big DVT for obvious reasons. Can anyone name the signing we made of a European Cup winner ?

Bino's
take yer pick from this Most recent team[edit] A Scottish League XI was last selected in 1990, by Dundee United manager Jim McLean.[18] The following team, dominated by players from the New Firm of Aberdeen and Dundee United, was selected by McLean:[18] Theo Snelders (Aberdeen) Gary Stevens (Rangers) David Robertson (Aberdeen) Jim McInally (Dundee United) Miodrag Krivokapić (Dundee United) Freddie van der Hoorn (Dundee United) Istvan Kozma (Dunfermline) Paul Lambert (St Mirren) Charlie Nicholas (Celtic) Bobby Connor (Aberdeen) Hans Gillhaus (Aberdeen)
slasher
Gillhaus is the best I would've said although I also liked Zerouali and Nemsadze at Dundee ? Jose Quitongo was pretty good before he hit the bevvy big time as well lol Edited September 20, 2016 by slasher

It's like a Strachan team in negative.... was pointing toward snelders, kozma & gillhaus although see from above snelders ended up at rangers, which I somehow missed/forgot at that time our non OF clubs were able to attract some players who weren't just in decline looking for a pay day
kumnio
Caballero before the Utd hacks ruined him, Nemsadze was a class above as well.

slasher
Who was the left sided French lad that played for the jambos. Handsome fecker and a right good player around the Burley era iirc
Guest flumax
Did they have to play well in Scotland? Or just be a player who achieved greatness before or after being in Scotland? Eg kasper Schmeichel won the premier league last year, Danish international, played 15 x for Falkirk.

Good for the clarification, ta. Was ravenelli any good at Dundee, can't remember, so probably not. Heck of a player elsewhere though
