giblet
For me, my favourite venue was The Forum in Livingston. In November 1989 I saw The Cult followed by Aerosmith the night after. Brilliant llive bands, brilliant venue.

The Laud
Is it not about time edinburgh built a world class venue similar to the hydro.
neil r
I always liked the Venue in Edinburgh. Been gone a while now.
Toepoke
In Glasgow the old Mayfair was great before it became the Garage. More intimate than the Barras. King Tut's is good too, but the layout's not great if it's busy. Always liked the ambiance of the Old Fruitmarket, but my favourite place is probably the Royal Concert Hall: Good views, comfy seats and fantastic acoustics

deecie
That the venue that was next to the Windmill Bar? Probably, it's on Windmill Brae anyway. Is it not about time edinburgh built a world class venue similar to the hydro. Even Aberdeen is getting one!! In Glasgow the old Mayfair was great before it became the Garage. More intimate than the Barras. Same cultural vandalism happened in Aberdeen. Moshulu is now also a "Garage"
Potted Heid
In Aberdeen, The Capital for first gig. Used to like The Pelican, too. In Glasgow, Barrowlands and King Tuts. In Edinburgh, The Venue (one in Aberdeen too), and the Playhouse. Best ever? Tarlair open air pool. Warm summer night with Jethro Tull and Marillion playing. the_burger
Barras is hands down the best for me. Sleazies, Cathouse, Oran mor and Stereo are good as well.
Fairbairn
King Tuts for me. It can be a bit of a nightmare when it's packed but that adds to the charm for me. Liam Fray solo, Benjamin Booker and Carter USM in there are 3 of my best ever gigs.
