You could rewrite that headline to:

Moronic tory government threatens our standard of living.

Alternatively in a few years it will be "Marauding Poor threaten our standard of living"

The sad thing is that Hammonds only saying what a lot of politicians, the media and general public think.

The members of the general public that think it are those who just swallow the right wing propaganda.

It's a horrible, but not unexpected point of view expressed from Hammond. Bit of a rubbish thread title though, it contains a massive assumption that a public figure wouldn't be expressing a similar opinion in an independent Scotland... Which frankly is impossible to believe.

Now the Tory government are considering depriving 18-22 year olds of all in work benefits, in order to comply with their manifesto pledge to stop migrants receiving them for the 1st 4 years they are in the uK.

They've created an economy where a huge proportion of jobs are so low paid that folk rely on benefits to get by. Yet now they are thinking about depriving the young of these benefits.
