in5omniac
Away at cameron house this weekend so no parkrun. Did 13k on the treadmill in the gym this morning though.
Deeklipse
Decent parkrun at Cramond yesterday. Slightly over 20 mins (running forwards - sorry Parklife ) but my dodgy knee felt fine afterwards so did another much slower lap before heading off to work. You'll break 20mins easily
Deeklipse
I have done before, don't worry. More concerned with getting the miles in just now!

Cove_Sheep
An evil treadmill intervals session before work to start the week. Will hopefully get another wee run in tonight. Not expecting any further ice this year after ordering some Yaktrax after losing a battle with black ice on Friday evening.
ParisInAKilt
Treadmill interval training. Thinking 60 seconds sprints, 90 second recovery x10. Anyone do anything similar?

Parklife
Do you always run at a steady pace? If you want to get that pace down I'd strongly advise you to do intervals on the treadmill. Obviously start off at an easier level to get used to it but my last treadmill interval sessions was: 2 mins warm up - 8% incline & 8kmph; Alternating between 1 min - 12% incline & 12kmph 1 min - 8% incline & 8kmph For 20 minutes 3 min cool down. 25minutes total. Cove_Sheep
I've been doing it for half an hour in total. 2 mins warmup 25 mins of the reps 3 mins cooldown.
JECK
Has anyone ever managed to injure themselves whilst running on an incline on a treadmill? Managed to pull my poplutius muscle I think it's called just behind the knee. Kept me out of running for 10 months. Just a word of warning for folk that do. Am terrified of treadmills now. bajin
I've been doing it for half an hour in total. 2 mins warmup 25 mins of the reps 3 mins cooldown. 2 minute warmup is a recipe for injury. I think you should do at least 15 minutes warmup at a slow pace.

Deeklipse
You would have done it if you had used your Garmin 110 Ha ha, probably. It's a shame parkrun don't use one to time us Agreed. I recommend running TO the gym. How fast…? Edited January 28, 2015 by Deeklipse
McVinceSCT
15 mns at slow pace + 4 or 5 fast runs on approx 100 meters is really the minimum before doing the intervals.

Top work. I ran every day in November and enjoyed it, total was about 135 miles I think.

Lamia
That's why you're losing to cove sheep It isn't his gym work that is the reason And nothing would make me go to the gym anyway not even if it made a difference. No point doing something you don't enjoy

No point doing something you don't enjoy I don't enjoy intervals but I enjoy the effects of them (faster times and a God-like physique). Charlie Endell
Eight-mile run through the snow this morning - up to Carmunnock then home via Busby. Can't beat a freezing morning with clear skies for it.
