Bobby Russell's Lovechild
Tim Martin was on this morning being asked about why Weatherspoons are bucking the trend by being a successful pub chain. He was then asked that because they plan to open up more pubs in Scotland, would independence affect that. He basically went on a rant about how we could be a successful economy, cited the likes of New Zealand, Singapore and Sweden and then said there has been loads of rubbish spouted from some big businesses and politicians to put people off a yes vote. He then even got in a further dig towards Westminster that hopefully an independent Scotland would have a fairer VAT system for pubs that the likes of supermarkets enjoy. The business presenter looked quite stunned and then had to say it was nice to hear different opinions about the referendum

neilser
The interviewer couldn't wait to get rid of him! Great! Quite - that wasn't what he was hoping for at all. I suspect that we won't be hearing from Tim Martin on the BBC for a while.

Where are ye, Charlie? 'I wouldnae set foot in one o New Zealand's gaffs'. His 'pubs' are still Satan's taverns. I will use them when there is little or no other choice, but that's desperation level. onewilliemiller (banned) operates a zero tolerance policy - unless he's at Edinburgh Airport... PASTA Mick
I think I'll use the money I save by not shopping at Asda this week by having a liquid lunch at Wetherspoons.
