I could also point out, rather ungallantly, that I know a few women who would do a better job of the Moustache growing than I will -

Well, you can call me a lot of things, but a lady's not one of them and thanks to my gall bladder playing silly buqqers I have lost enough weight for my BMI to be considered OK! You are correct though, two stone ago I would not have enjoyed Week One of Couch to 5K -

I'm on week two of Couch to 5K....and I'm doing Movember, I'm 64, am I taking on too much? -
The bloke on Racing UK remarked at lunchtime that it was going to be a very difficult day to find a winner at Redcar, and as you rightly point out, he wasn't wrong! "You never see a poor bookie" etc etc!

Sorry to take so long to get back, but phone packed in at Redcar, and I've been at a wedding in Yorkshire since. Don't know what happened to Merhoob, but that's racing. I managed one other winner through the technical selecting of the rider with the saltire race jacket, romped home at 9-1! TBF I had had a bit of success backing him (David Allan) before. All in all a pleasant day out at a nice wee course. Thanks Charlie Endell for your efforts!

Thank you Charlie Endell! Lovely start to the afternoon! G K Chestetton romped home!

Which reminds me of the fact that television in Dubai stopped showing the Flintstones, when asked why they said people didn't like it anymore, which is strange because just up the road people in Abu Dhabi Do! I'll get my coat! BTW Have Abu Dhabi ever applied to get the Football World Cup? They'd be a shoo-in at only 40 degrees!

Off down south next weekend for a wedding, so going to Redcar Races on Friday on the way down. I enjoy a day at the races, but don't really know one end of a horse from the other, so,if any of you guys on here who are keen race goers could send any tips my way before Friday, I'd be much obliged!

Thanks, Saintydave!

We are grandwean sitting in Perth on Sunday, in a house without Sky. Any suggestions for a pub to watch the Gibraltar game in, preferably near the Oakbank area, but not crucial I suppose.

I am of the generation who would talk about going to the paki's or going for a chinky, because...that's what you did, I don't (didn't) regard either expression as racist but don't use either any more. I would like to know though, why Paki is bad but Aussie is fine.

I hope you have top quality waterproofs!

Grimsby Town who play in Cleethorpes. -
You're right about grafting. In Dumfries its not unusual to see the assistant manager leaving what he's doing to help clear a queue. Both good supermarkets though and Lidl getting great press for the Value for Money of their wine compared with every other supermarket (plus M & S) While I'm on, Lidl's vintage cheddar is absolutely brilliant! IMHO of course.

Just received my tickets for the Irish game, thankfully I know where I'm going in the ground as how the Feck are you meant to read the wee maps on the back? No chance!

Got a bit mixed up with dates and find myself at the Playhouse Theatre on Saturday afternoon. Any suggestions for a pub in that vicinity to watch Saturday's match?

I think she's a good presenter, knows her stuff. I even read her autobiography which was an interesting read. Given that she is gay, its kinda irrelevant whether I would or I wouldn't
