weekevie04
Terrible news. Sounds selfish, but it hits home when it's an airline you know and used in the past.
Toepoke
Scary stuff, we've got kind of immune to thinking this stuff doesn't happen anymore with modern aircraft flying in Europe...
kumnio
Sounds selfish, but it hits home when it's an airline you know and used in the past. Its daft, but I think most people have that reaction. Not a nice way to go, unfortunately these things just happen.

At U Peter
Terrible news. Sounds selfish, but it hits home when it's an airline you know and used in the past. Indeed. We used German Wings for an internal flight when we played Germany in September and that was my first thought too.
Squirrelhumper
Flown with them before. Also used klm quite a few times and flew to Oz with Malaysian Airlines. Scary stuff.
kumnio
Flown with them before. Also used klm quite a few times and flew to Oz with Malaysian Airlines. Scary stuff. In the last year, thats KLM, Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia and now German Wings that have all crashed, it does feel strangely more personal if youve used them. News channels going into overdrive, asking unanswerable questions.
ParisInAKilt
It's a normal reaction. Flying long haul soon and you can't help but think about it in relation to yourself.

kumnio
When did a KLM plane crash? Sorry, it didnt, it was a Malaysian Airlines that was a codeshare, the Ukrainian incident.
ALBANACH
Sorry, it didnt, it was a Malaysian Airlines that was a codeshare, the Ukrainian incident. Goes to show though, you book a flight with one firm but end up flying with a different company.

Had it lost power it could have landed not far from its last position.
Charlie Endell
Flew with them from Manchester to Hamburg last September heading to the game in Dortmund. Shocking news. Edited March 24, 2015 by Charlie Endell
Toepoke
Plane was built in 1991, that's a fair age now... No point in speculating yet. Had it lost power it could have landed not far from its last position. Very true, it could've glided to safety although being over the Alps would've hindered that possibility. Seems that the wreckage has been found so hopefully the data recorders will reveal all... Edited March 24, 2015 by Toepoke
