Robroysboy
Playing well in the EPL with stoke, scored at least one goal this season, hard as nails, experienced at international level. Can play either left or right back. Welcome back to the squad phil. I can see you starting vs ireland. Anyone agree ?

Jagtag
Absolutely, a defender who is rock solid. I'd have Bardsley and Robertson.

Barney Rubble
No. Whittaker and Robertson for me. Whittaker just does not inspire confidence - second goal in Warsaw stemmed from him fluffing a clearance. Which was a shame as he otherwise had his best game for Scotland that night otherwise. Robroysboy
No. Whittaker and Robertson for me. Outnumbered on here so far paulo. But its great to see competirion for places.
Paulo2576
I like him. Playing weekly now with norwich so must be a plus he plays alongside Martin. He's by no means faultless but sometimes feels like a witch hunt on here for him, as it does with Hutton and Maloney. He also saved a certain goal that night covering our centre half. Jagtag
but sometimes feels like a witch hunt on here for him, I'm sure he wouldn't let us down if he gets the nod but I just feel that Bardsley is a better defender. Strachan will do what he thinks is best.
GHfaeGTA
I would go with Bardsley and Robertson but what's chances of Strachan pulling surprise and retaining Whittaker at LB for experience?
rabmania
I would go with Bardsley and Robertson but what's chances of Strachan pulling surprise and retaining Whittaker at LB for experience? If I was a betting man...that's what I'd bet on.

Bzzzz
Don't like Bardsley. Should be playing for his own country rather than ours. Edited November 5, 2014 by Bzzzz
McToot
I'd like to see Bardsley and Robertson, but I suspect it'll be Bardsley and Whittaker. Glad to see Bardsley back in squad.
Al1978
Strachan seems to love Whittaker.

thplinth
I like Bardsley and I'd start him. He'd be a regular in my squad should I replace Gordon Strachan anytime soon. He is a good footballer and he plays with guts for us which is more than can be said for some born and bred Scots who pulled on the jersey over the years. thplinth
So would you exclude yourself from selection Bzzzz? Would you not have to claim under the 'parents rule' rather than being born here. If Bardsley is getting in through a grandparent it is just a question of degree. Scotland has a long history of 'exporting' it citizens and like Ireland we have a diaspora who claim Scottish links. Why should we deny ourselves the opportunity to select from this vast reservoir of Scots. Seems stupid.
ParisInAKilt
Pretty sure Bardsley qualifies because his dad was born in Scotland, although quickly moved to England. Redundant argument. In an ideal world he wouldn't be picked but he is and generally gives his all and improves the team.
1320lichtie
Love the guy. Right back nail on for me, I imagine he will also hit McGeady a lot harder

dipped flake
Boring argument about his right to play for Scotland. He is a Scotland player so a pointless discussion. On his merits as a player I would go with him and Robertson for the Ireland game.
