I also doubt Rangers have bent over backwards to have their Colonial masters in attendence

The SFA will have arranged this for them

Nothing at all to with the SFA. The English FA would have had to source out facilities and enquire with individual companies in charge of those facilities about the cost and availability of them. They then choose to book or not as would be the same with hotels to be based at. Much like its each of our own responsibility to book our accommodation on trips abroad - it has nothing to do with the SFA.

So the SFA and the FA got together to arrange the 150th anniversary "Heritage" game a year or so ago and the SFA said to the FA make your own arrangements regarding training facilities etc as it's nothing to do with us ?

Absolutely. Just like FIFA organise World Cups but its up to individual football associations to choose where they wish to be based and book after sourcing the facilities out.

I don't care, it's only a friendly.

Whilst thats true we have spain and France after this. Three straight defeats in a row would be a downer on the good mood we are currently feeling. We should really have booked some minnow or average team to play instead of France so that we could build up confidence before the tricky georgia game.

Totally disagree. This team does not need ego massaging wins over minnows that gives us no clues as to where we stand and offer no test.

We look good for Euro qualification and are going to be in League A in the Nations League next year. We will be tested against top teams so we need to experience similar such tests to see where we stand and in what areas we need to improve to be competitive. It also lets Clarke see which of his squad are most comfortable playing against the very best teams. You get nothing from games against lesser nations and we are at a stage where we know we are better than those minnows.

What if we had lost to those average teams?

Chances are we wouldnt, we are decent team right now. Even though we are doing great right now there is a reasonable chance we lose the next three games. I would rather we only lose 2 and then won one before going into the georgia game.

If we picked someone like Latvia or Moldova we would have a nice confidence boosting win going into our tough away fixture with georgia.

Maybe a slightly pessimistic way to think but we are not an elite team and I would hate to see us lose three on the bounce after all the good work we have put in.

Really? Our record in friendlies is atrocious.

I think our players are intelligent enough to know that there is no shame in losing to England, France and Spain. Well France and Spain anyway. 😂

There is a month and a lot of club football between the France game and Georgia as well so even if we do lose all 3 games (which is by no means guaranteed) I don’t think the results will have any impact on our performance in Georgia.

We may already have qualified by then anyway.

You said they would be nuts to turn it down but you don't know the figure?

Well it’s not going to be £3 and a power card is it?

They hire their training ground out all the time. Rejecting England because they are English would also be illegal.

Do you honestly think Rangers giving their training ground to England and Juve when they played celtic is all about money?
