Caledonian Craig
how is mulgrew shite? Because he is a Scotland international of course. Read the board and seems par for the course for our players to be berated or labelled as shite yet here we are with one loss in nine matches in the last year. Angus_Young
He's also shite, but that's a different argument. Been good for the National side IMO
runningtings
I think he has done well for us to be honest, plays well beside Broon.

er yir macaroon
Mulgrew will be needed for the Ireland games. We need good deliveries and a bit of brawn. He's not the best we have from open play but these will be 100 mile an hour and could come down to set pieces.
ProudScot
He's also shite, but that's a different argument. He's gotten better at a better club aka Celtic. Aberdeen are pish and was hard for him to stand out at a pish club. He's a good player now
Parklife
This - but Parkie will be along in a minute to tell you that he doesn't rate him................. Wow. You logged on to a thread just to have a pop at me.
Barney Rubble
Wow. You logged on to a thread just to have a pop at me. Not at all mate - look at the title of the thread - it's called 'Charlie Mulgrew'. And then look at your numerous past contributions on this board about Charlie Mulgrew. They are self-explanatory. Your inflated view of yourself is getting ahead of you once again, Parkie.

So in a thread about Charlie Mulgrew, to which i have had no contribution, you post about me? What a bizarre thing to do. Anyway, i'm away to have a pop at you in the misheard song lyrics thread. Parklife
Aw diddums. Pointing out your oddball behaviour isn't really a "diddums". Crack on with your chank patter though
Barney Rubble
Back on topic - as runningtings alludes to, Mulgrew and Brown together in central midfield complement each other to good effect. Mulgrew has improved tremendously as a player since he was moved from left back - he's developed another dimension to his game which has been spotted by WGS and from which the national team has benefitted tremendously. kumnio
Is almost excellent in a midfield partnership with Brown for us, they have a real connection playing together. Always good to get a player back for us.
Dandydon
Assuming all fit, who misses out from midweek if Mulgrew comes back in? Maloney? Morrison?
Third Lanark
Assuming all fit, who misses out from midweek if Mulgrew comes back in? Maloney? Morrison? Given the physical battle which Gordon has suggested, I think Maloney may be too lightweight to deal with the likes of Glenn Whelan; Morrison is a bit bigger so I think a place must be found for Mulgrew. Surprisingly we are a bit short in that dept. If Caldwell was still in circulation this might have been a game for him to play in midfield along with Broon, who is the only one I have confidence in to compete with MON's mob. ErsatzThistle
Mulgrew has played well for Scotland under Strachan. Keep him in a defensive midfield role though, not at left back ! Wonder if Neil Lennon will try to take him to Bolton ?
Parklife
He's a far better midfielder than he is a defender. I still don't think he's international class though. He's way behind Darrwn Fletcher in the pecking order.
Bannannan
Fletch is going to suffer because of lack of playing time but at this moment in time a combination Brown Fletcher is imo our best bet in the holding roll.
