Parklife
Fraser does seem the obvious choice. If Anya was injured, we'd probably have to push Robertson forward as we don't really have another left-sided midfielder. A wonderfully talented laddie. Hopefully he can kick on over the next 12 months and get a move to the EPL.
Hertsscot
Surprised that Bardsley has been overlooked again, played very well on Sunday.

Gala Tartan Army (Borders)
Bardsley a mystery to me, versatile player which Strachan supposedly likes.

betsy123
As an Irish man I don't understand why Bardsley is never picked? Has an eye for goal and is a decent Premier league standard player.

davew
Here's a list of EPL players sorted according to form (whoscored.com) James Morrison Phil Bardsley James McArthur Steven Naismith Andrew Robertson Alan Hutton Graham Dorrans Allan McGregor George Boyd Charlie Adam Darren Fletcher Scott Arfield Steven Fletcher Matthew Phillips Ross Wallace According to that the two Fletchers are lucky to be in the squad and Bardsley must be wondering what more he has to do. Here's the list of players in the Championship also sorted according to whoscored.com form Christophe Berra Gordon Greer Tom Cairney Steven Whittaker Paul Dixon Chris Martin Craig Bryson Kevin McDonald Craig Forsyth Grant Hanley Jordan Rhodes Craig Conway Chris Maguire Ross McCormack Russell Martin Kirk Broadfoot Chris Burke Johnny Russell David Marshall Murray Wallace Ikechi Anya Jamie Mackie Paul Caddis Don Cowie Shaun Maloney Ryan Fraser So according to club form, Cairney, Dixon, and McDonald all unlucky to not make the squad. Russell Martin, Burke, Marshall, Anya, and Maloney all lucky to make the squad. Surely it should be listed in terms of position... You've got a point. When you break it down by position, even though they're not bang on form, there's no-one should be in ahead of Steven Fletcher, or Russel Martin, or David Marshall. Phil Bardsley is playing really well, but he would still be behind Hutton and Robertson.
PASTA Mick
great goal chris martin for derby He got an assist for the first goal too. It's getting easier to see why he has forced himself ahead of Rhodes.

brant grebner
Wouldn't have Chris Martin anywhere near the squad - he's English and he's keeping out a better, younger and Scottish player in Tony Watt. Martin can feck off as far as I'm concerned.

andyD
Chris Martin on Steve McLaren and the Scottish contingent at Derby: "There’s a bit of banter back and forth about the Scotland-England thing, to be honest. He gives us some stick but he didn’t do too well as England manager so he gets it back as well."
andyD
I remember reading that he grew up watching Scotland games with his dad, who's from Glasgow. Clearly not a Scottish bone in his body, he should eff off and stop making our national side such a sham.. ...

Guys like him bring us down. Cameron Burgess played for us up until under 19 level but has now switched Australia... Nationality is a very fluid thing and people from mixed origins can often identify themselves with one or both nations... My mate born here from Indian origins, loves both counties and identifies himself as both and said if he ever played football he wouldn't be sure which on to choose. Point is you have no idea how he feels or how anyone feels about nationality. Many players switch between nations at youth level
Robroysboy
I have no problem with second generation Scots playing for Scotland. Don hutchinson added to the squad as will potentially Chris martin. They have to be better than what is available. In GORD we trust, its his call not ours. Have faith we could have beat germany and at least deserved a draw. Edited October 1, 2014 by Robroysboy
