ParisInAKilt
For all I like corbyn for being more left wing and being more like the old labour even if he does win the leadership race I just can't see him being able to win an election for pm. I think he scares the establishment/big business enough that the campaign would see corbyn being demonized in the media almost as bad as what happened with salmond during the ref If Corbyn can't win a general election because of the establishment then it's hard to see Scotland getting a yes vote. Both are a threat and will see a similar response As kumino says Corbyn could win but that's only if his party does implode
Toepoke
Its funny when you see labour, SNP and yes voters say Corbyn won't win the next GE. Why? Aren't you just falling for the scaremongering of the Indy ref and general election? As much as I'd like to see it, I'd say it would be unlikely. For starters he'll be 71, then there's the fact he faces huge opposition from the PLP. It'll probably be a case of how much he can reshape Labour policy and who his successor will be. So I'd say the odds were long, that said I wish I'd put a tenner on him in June

Wibble
It's academic (sic). JC I reckon will take it but, as a member of the LP, I voted Burnham - 'cos most UK voters see him as a bLairite (boooooooo!) and suitably nondescript and winnae frighten the horses. He won't lead the party intae the next election, where I see Labour, having a woman leader, will boot the Tory scum oot. Obviously, I live in England, so you lot make yer ain arrangements. I had a good kick of the ba' last night but today - before the United v Dippers game, I'm going to a book launch at the Peoples' History Museum in Manchester... free wine!!!! Husssar!!!!! exile
I'm just thankful that for every few blind Nationalists like Exile there's a good guy like ParisinaKilt. A Yes voter who can see the greater good past the Unionist vs Nationalist nonsense. Blair Jenkins said the other day that independence will be won in 2021... I imagine it will be quite difficult to argue for a Neoliberal led Independent Scotland vs Corbyns progressive Labour government. Ahem,… I invited you to consider a Socialist World with no national boundaries! What I had in mind was that if you value all human life equally, you could have a world with no borders, where people are free to migrate to where there are more resources, and so world resources are more evenly distributed; there is a levelling up for the poorest, so no-one starves, and a levelling down for the rich (including probably most of us on here); we all live around the world average income (about £6000 a year), probably underemployed, living in small houses (or large houses divided into small ones); it could be like East Germany where everyone has some sort of job, you get a Trabant if you’re lucky, but no one starves. But you chose to respond by referencing Scotland, Yes voters and Blair Jenkins!...
kumnio
60% would be huge, if any MPs or party figures disagree with his victory, they shouldnt cause any trouble, they should just quit. Thats a pretty decisive victory for the left.

kumnio
London Mayoral election more important than the elections in Scotland and Wales, these Labour people need to think about what they are saying.
