  1. You’ve been studying the game in some depth I see
  2. I haven’t seen Dundee turn in a performance this season like Hearts did today. The difference between last week and this was massive. Just a coincidence that Naismith is a Rangers fan…
  3. First of all Celtic were dire today let me just make that clear. But VAR completely ruined the game and although there were diabolical decisions against both teams those against Celtic seemed to have more impact on the outcome. Something needs done because the standard of officiating is utterly atrocious and VAR is supposed to be helping make it better but is actually making it worse and causing more influence on the outcome of games than we ever saw before its introduction. As for Hearts performance today, if I were a Jambo I’d be furious that they can be so insipid last week against their manager’s favourite team and so good this week against the side he hates. Of course in understand that you can be poor one week and play well the next, but something really stinks when you look at the chasm between those two performance levels.
  4. Sometimes yes. But no question they lay down last weekend. At best they just gave up. This win will mean far more to Naismith as a Rangers fan than as Hearts manager for sure. As for Celtic there are serious questions to be asked regarding mentality and commitment. The players should be good enough but they haven’t all got the stomach for a battle as we’ve seen numerous times this season. However the title race ends up the is season a mass clear out is needed come the end of May.
  5. Very poor in final third. Has been like that all season. Just when you think a corner has been turned its back to this again. I call Naismith’s integrity into question though. That performance against Rangers was pathetic but today you can see what they’re capable of when they bust a gut. As for VAR - it’s sh1t no matter who you support. It’s totally fkd the game up.
  6. Baffling how hearts can go from so pathetic and spineless against Rangers last weekend to this today. Also baffling how Celtic can go from that performance on Wednesday against Dundee to this today.
  7. For me every VAR decision is badly badly wrong today. Embarrassing.
  8. It’s a penalty all day long. Reason being Beaton is on VAR duty.
  9. That last night has to be one of the most inept and atrocious refereeing performances I’ve seen in years. Utterly appalling.
  10. I have absolutely no dog in this race whatsoever, and what results Dundee get generally don’t put me up nor down. Don’t particularly like or dislike them. But WTF are they thinking of here? McGhee hasn’t had a managers job since 2019 or whatever at some non league club in England nobody has ever heard of and almost got them relegated before being sacked (if my memory serves me anything approaching correctly?). On what planet does this qualify him for a premiership club managers job? Especially as he’s been a complete disaster of varying degrees at virtually ever club he’s ever managed. I’ll say now that Dundee are looking certs to go down after this appointment.
  11. Absolutely buzzing for this now. Called off two years ago the day before the game so it’s been a long time coming! I have a couple of last minute spare tickets going if anyone needs them.
  12. I’d like to see a second 6N tier set up involving the likes of Georgia, Romania, Portugal, Spain, Russia. Instead of a straight one up one down, perhaps a 2 leg playoff between the winners of this group and the bottom of the top tier. Might be worth finishing bottom now and again for a cheeky wee trip to Tbilisi!
  13. The only thing that would improve your post would be to demand the removal of that clown Lawwell with immediate effect. Not only is he ultimately responsible for this season's utterly pathetic attempt to retain the title, he has also caused the club to be dragged through gutter this past week and given everyone with any interest in Scottish football an easy target to (rightly) have a real go at Celtic. All the criticism that has been aimed at the club is entirely merited. He has made the club look stupid, ignorant, arrogant and pathetic. His behaviour is simply inexcusable and his position is now entirely untenable. If Celtic are to retain any shred of credibility, Desmond needs to bin him forthwith.
  14. Johnson is a triumph of British stupidity and wholly unfounded delusions of superiority.
  15. I believed at the time and still firmly believe now that there was every chance United would’ve/could’ve beaten Liverpool in the final had it not been for that glaringly obviously bent ref. Imagine that happened now? There would’ve been absolute murder yet it was all swept under the carpet. Again in parallel with Clough I seem to recall a similar thing happening to Forest in a European semi final in the early 80s (v Anderlecht springs to mind but that could easily be wrong). It was great to see the whole of Scotland right behind United during those European runs, just as they were with Aberdeen too. I do wish football remained the same now as it was then. Without doubt wee Jum should’ve been the Scotland manager, but he’d have really upset the applecart (which desperately needed upsetting) which put paid to his chances - no way would the SFA bigwigs have swapped their cosy wee closed-doors cabal for national team success. RIP Jim
  16. Whatever Forster wanted they should’ve given him double. I’ll go as far as to say his absence is what’s made the difference between winning the league this season and not. The defence is shaky in large part due to their obvious lack of confidence in Barkas who has yet to make one single save of note. Forster in goals would’ve turned many of the draws into wins. Wouldn’t have made much difference against Rangers right enough unless he went up the other end and actually tried a shot on goal but at least Celtic would be in a fairly close title race still. If they really couldn’t get Forster back then the failure to secure Marshall instead was equally incompetent. The seeds were sown with the refusal to offer a decent package for McGinn and its been the same old story since, including their lack of ambition in appointing a decent manager. Lawwell has the TIAR failure lying entirely at his door.
  17. Rangers thoroughly worthy winners today and barely got out of first gear. Difficult to know if they have another gear because we were so pathetic they didn’t need one. That’s what’s hard to swallow - I don’t think Rangers are particularly good but our performance was so weak, team selection so wrong and tactics so far wide of the mark that to they didn’t have to be and won’t need to be to stop 10IAR. And it’s not even the worst we’ve played this season. I’ve said a number of times, including the day he was appointed when instead of celebrating a treble treble most of the bar we were in were visibly gutted, that Celtic will not win 10IAR with Lennon in charge and I have seen nothing to change my mind and a hell of a lot to reinforce my view. I am at a loss to explain why he is still in the role. I think we got lucky last season for 9 as we’ve been going backwards since he took over and Rangers fortunately didn’t quite manage to catch up. They had a great chance and blew it, they won’t blow such another great chance. It was clear that unless we moved forward again they would manage to catch up this season. With Lennon at the helm we’ll continue to move backwards and Rangers in my view are clear favourites to win the title this season. Do the board actually want ten? If Lennon isn’t removed then you have to wonder. So I will say it yet again - if Lennon is not removed forthwith then Rangers will be lifting the Premiership trophy come May.l and the dream of ten will be gone probably forever.
  18. Unlikely to be this season I fear
  19. Frankly I’d can football altogether until we can fill stadia again.
  20. That's a fair point, actually. Although it was much different back then and a win nowadays would trump it enormously (which we know will never happen again) that will likely always remain the clubs biggest achievement. But there's no question TIAR would be up there and not too far behind. So let's call it the clubs second greatest ever achievement - if it happens. But my point about Lennon jeopardising it still stands. 👍
  21. “You’re right, it’s not a dumb question, it’s a downright fucking ignorant one.” along with suggesting my head is “so far up” my own arse wouldn’t exactly be described as complimentary. Both sound fairly abusive in my book. But I’ll accept you didn’t mean it to come across as abusive, on account of the fact you’ve generally come across as a fairly decent poster over the years. But please remember not all Celtic fans live in a wee green bubble (and not all Rangers ones live in a wee blue one either) and many of us football fans have a lot more going on in our lives than football - I for one have virtually no time to sacrifice to football at the moment and it’s easy to lose track of what’s going on. Half the games this season I haven’t even realised Celtic were playing until I saw the result. 👍
