Lee Wallace

Didn't show much "loyalty" to Hearts did he...

Accepting years in the lower leagues for a good young player was just ridiculous and such a waste. Look at the likes of Christophe Berra, arguably not as good a player but has made a far better job of his career progression.

All criticism is entirely justified, over sensitive from "The Rangers" supporters, what a surprise.

I'm not a Rangers supporter - which helps when it comes to objectivity.

Interesting interview with Lee Wallace where he's basically saying that it's totally beyond his comprehension that other teams aren't just stepping aside to let Rangers take their rightful place in the top tier.

He also goes on to say that he thinks his Scotland career is over, and never really saw himself as a Scotland player anyway.

Not sure who's going to want all these Rangers "stars" once they decide they can't hack another season in the lower divisions. Wallace could have had a Scotland shirt to keep by now.

His scotland career is over.

And he's to blame. No sympathy.

is his international career over?

he said that he didn't feel part of it due to only being in a few squads, not that he was finished with it. its just what you choose to read into it.

mibbees he's getting older (what is he 27?) and the reality of his mistake in staying with rangers is sinking in and will drive on to do better, and get more caps?

Yes it is.

Robertson, Whittaker, Forsyth and Bardsley can all play in his position anyway. You can also add Graeme Shinnie and Stephen Hendrie to that list.

If Wallace cared about playing for Scotland he should have left Rangers like McGregor, Naismith and Whittaker did.

Wallace is finished at international level.

Alright then I'll play the game.

What has Lee Wallace got to offer that Andy Robertson, Steven Whittaker, Craig Forsyth, Phil Bardsley can't ?

Is the answer "coz he plays furra Rangurz, that's why !" ........

Well, unlike Bardsley, he is actually Scottish.

you need your best players playing against the best opposition available to them, and obviously on form. Thats why Lee Wallace isnt in the squad.

We have players playing at a very good standard between epl, championship, and ofcourse the spl.

Lee Wallace is our 6th choice left back fue to the fact he is playing scottish championship and against below average players for the majority of it.

Wallace could've been our established first choice left back had he moved on but chose to stay and increase his wage whilst his career went backwards. In games I've seen, he's been hopeless this season. No sympathy.

Well not really a concern as we have better players and he wouldn't be in the squad on merit, but if that's his attitude then i wouldn't call him up anyway.

Strachan's said a few times that a lot of what he's trying to do is build a squad feeling around the international team, with player who want to work for each other, plus learn and improve themselves as players. If he doesn't feel like a Scotland player and hasn't got the fight to see out a job he picked and has been working at for 2 and a bit years, then I'm not sure he' mentally suitable to join the squad. Determination and commitment should be prerequisites.
