ErsatzThistle
I highly doubt that Gauld or Morgan will be called up.

Great speed of thought and (to quote the commentator) "clinical finish[es]" for the goals. Would love to see Gauld in next squad. He's got technical skills and vision that only a few of our current players have. A different option from the bench? But maybe that bird has flown? apologies ProudScot, I realise now you were referring to Lewis Morgan with your '...wingers...' comment. Good point. Lovely finish in the Lewis Morgan video though! Nice to see.
Bobby Russell's Lovechild
Two goals for Che Adams, goal for Allan Campbell, anther goal for Stewart. Hickey and McGinn both subbed off
Bobby Russell's Lovechild
Burke again, scores the winner away to Dortmund. Is that three for the season?
romanticscot
Wow indeed from Burke. I stand by by my comment from pre-season that if Burke started well with a few goals before our next squad we would be silly not to include him. Yes I'd have to agree given how short we are of in-form strikers.

Putting the ball in the net is the name of the game. You do not get a goal awarded for 50 touches of the ball.

I had already written him off. He has shown time and time again that he has no tactical awareness. He would not have had so many clubs otherwise. Based on the timing of his goals, there's no denying he has given Werder Bremen 3 more points than they would've had without him 🤔 Edited August 20, 2022 by todd

And looking at that clip again, the timing and curvature of his run is superb. He gives himself SO much space. And then the finish! Okay, early days at Werder Bremen, but he already looks a different player to Ollie Burke that struggled at the likes of West Brom and Sheffield United. A wee bit of confidence? Better coaches? I don't know, but it augurs well for the future if he can keep it up.
syecosse
Have been reading about Ross Stewarts start to the season, apparently he has really raised his game so far, good link up play with Simms who was on loan at Hearts last year,a lot more than fans where expecting in the championship from him, fans want him tied down to a new contract. 5 games 3 goals and 2 assists. Yes a promising start. People on hear last season were saying he was only knocking goals in at a lower league level and to wait and see how he does at Championship-level. Early days but at the moment he is delivering.
gkm_vancouver
Two goals from Adams today. Not a bad start to the season, a run of goals would do him and us well for games coming up.

Aye, he's started well. I notice with Sunderland he plays in a front two. Something about him tells me he wouldn't be as effective up front by himself though. If we had a friendly to "experiment" in - would an Adams and Stewart partnership be something worth trying out ?

Possibly, or is it a certain type of pairing noticed someone comparing the partnership to Phillips/Quinn, so may depend on the striker with him, but defo reckon a friendly or 2 to see how he/they gets on.
