Isn't that the point of this thread? "Potential" Who saw Scott McTominay coming when he was 18/19, and on Sunday he gave a performance that £90m Paul Pogba has never given for Manchester United. There are many instances of late developers: Scott McTominay made his senior Manchester United debut at 20 years old debut. He wasn't touted for greatness by anyone before then.. He only really became a regular at 22 years old, which was his breakthrough season. James Vardy was playing in the conference with Halifax till he was 24 years old. Paul Lambert was a decent attacking midfielder at Motherwell. He joined Borussia Dortmund at 27 years old. He turned into a genuine world class anchorman with Zidane in his back pocket in the European Cup final. Ciro Immobile was a journeyman striker till he joined Lazio at at 26 and now he's a goal machine. Better yet, Andy Robertson was in the 3rd Division, packing shelves, at 18. He should've given up on his dream and focused his attention on being a delivery driver.... as opposed to being a world class footballer with an EPL and European cup winner's medal in his pocket at the age of 26.
