He is not a miss today doubt he would have started. I agree he hasn't played particularly well but look at the games he has been involved with from the start away against croatia and home against belgium with nothing to work with and a handful of late sub appearances. I think u are badly mistaken if you think we don't miss a 40 goal striker. he is the only striker we have that can create something out of nothing to dig us out a hole Edited September 4, 2016 by LewisEDI

I'd love him to be the answer as Scotland gain from it but I just don't see it. I don't hate him and will always have my support in the blue jersey - I just don't see him cracking it at international level. scotsgary2
Could say the same about Naismith tho !! Not saying answer to striker problem but good for this game as a goal threat..

Caledonian Craig
Yes and sorry but I have seen many Scots strikers score early in their Scotland careers as sub such as Dougie Freedman, Chris Martin, Craig Mackaill-Smith etc so why not Griffiths if he is such a talent? The way people go on about him I'd expect an even better return than those I mentioned but there hasn't been. Why? scotsgary2
Sadly I will say S Fletcher is probably the best striker we have at moment
Caledonian Craig
I echo your last setiment Lewis. All of the team need our full support tonight. A win is a must - I will take any result as long as it is a win.
ceudmilefailte
Think the thing with Griffiths is he appears to have improved out of sight over last couple of seasons. Is it just down to playing for the best team in a weak league?
BraveheartGordon
I think lots of posters are judging Griffiths from a handful of starts 3 years ago when he wasn't half the player he is today. He is absolutely lethal, can now score all types of goals (including headers) from any conceivable distance, and his hold up play has improved dramatically. I find it hard to see how someone could argue he's not our best all round striker at the moment. A big miss tonight IMO. hope Fletcher/Martin/Watt can do the business instead. Return of Yermaw
agreed. any time you think Strachan is getting a raw deal just turn to see Martin on the bench, warming up, just about to come on or worse, starting.
